OK, I know this is a PC based site, but this is actually in a round-about way, a PC concern. I have a PC in my car that plays through my CD player via a FM modulator. However a month ago, the FM quality started to slowly degrade, and now go out completely. I still can play CD's and listen to AM radio, but FM stations just produce static.
I ripped everything apart (no small feat, with my car design) and the antenna connection was as tight as ever, and the antenna connection in the trunk seemed fine as well. I wiggled and still got nothing. Can just the FM go bad in a car stereo? It is a Jensen CD615x (it is one of only a handful that are made in the larger size to fill the huge opening fo a Chevy Cav '96, without a converter kit.)
Thanks for any help that can be offered,
