Unfortunately what can one assume. Exploding car. Border crossing. Holiday traffic. Not until they had first hand witnesses and video surveillance, speculation was going to happen.

One shouldn’t be assuming shit. It took only a few hours to develop sufficient factual information to know it wasn’t a terrorist attack. Hell the first reports I heard started with “An explosion ON the bridge”. This is a problem of the instant gratification news cycle actual fucking reporting doesn’t happen.

Fueling the never ending conspiracy theories, and as Vic said earlier, now it’s forever a terrorist attack for a large portion of citizens

Well, technically, it was on the bridge ... property.

But fueling the whole conspiracy thing ... considering this was a local business couple driving their own vehicle and with no rational explanation so far for their actions ....

... do you recall the movie Telefon?

I don't think it'd be such a bad thing if we started labeling and charging rich asswipes doing shit like this as terrorism.

That's what people should be doing with these right wingers is going "why can't we trust rich people to do simple tasks like driving a car without causing a spectacular crash?"

At least they didn’t run the car off a runway… thread would have gone on for pages.

What is the goal of terrorism? The sole purpose is to instill fear. Sure things are destroyed, people hurt, but those are just the ends to the means of instilling fear.

Every time a talking head attributes anything to terrorism, often when it is not a terrorist activity, the terrorists get a "freebie". They get to instill fear, for free. No planning necessary, or effort required... they just get a freebie

Made it safely to Buffalo, heading back today. No issues with travel, appreciate the concern!

Which is why terrorist groups lay claim to events they had nothing to do with. Fire at a food production facility? "Yeah, that was us."

You often hear of a driver having some kind of medical episode and the passenger will at least try to do something to stop or redirect the vehicle.

Makes me kind of curious here.

I'm not sure we even know which one was driving even if investigators do. Will they ever figure out what really happened? Or will they just have to guess?

Maybe we should give this thing called an "investigation" some "time" to develop "evidence" and find "facts".

Drunk? Drunk wasn’t the “problem” with the KISS concert I attended in San Antonio in 1975. Weed and acid were. Alcohol was a minor consideration.

Still cannot remember a hella lot from it…two hits of blotter acid and a bag of weed amongst friends left me with memories of many flash pots on stage (huge flames), Gene Simmons’ solo with the obligatory red “blood” pouring from his mouth, and essentially a mosh pit thing right in front of the stage.

While the acid’s effects subsided over the weekend, still have hearing “issues” from it…and don’t regret one second.

Same tour, Spokane Convention Center, purple microdot and opium-soaked Thai stick. I remember the start of the concert and that's it, so it must have been a good concert. 🤣

The 70's was a good time but the 80's was even better. FedEx and lots of cocaine from Florida. I somehow survived.

Are we sure this was a Rolls and not a 96Firebird? Dude hasn't been back since posting the thread.
Outside the dig at 96Firebird, the vehicle in question was a Bentley, not RR. They race Bentleys, btw.

I know the Bent in question is a 2022 model, but there was a recall of 2021 Bentleys due to throttle pedal sticking. Of course, Bentley denies any connection, but after numerous recent instances of auto mfgrs lying about faults/defects, well, maybe an avenue to investigate.

I know it’s drive/everything by wire, but all it takes is one faulty component.

Rich cars are rich cars, brand is irrelevant to me and often cross from one to the other. As far as I know a Rolls is a Bentley is a Lambo.

Thing is, was there enough left of the car or the people do be able to do a full forensic exam? Toxicology takes a certain about of bio material. Though it may have been an exaggeration, word was all that was left of the car was the engine, so how will they be able to examine the other mechanicals? I'm skeptical of airliner crash investigations where they claim to have determined a single component failure where there is very little of the plane to examine.

So you're like an ignorant moron from your first statement.

They frequently identify multiple causes that acted in concert to cause an air crash.

again:

9/11 gave them a permanent freebie, because we let them.
