So, I have a Miata, and in order to avoid a determined thief from cutting his way through my soft top I keep my doors unlocked because nothing in my car is worth as much as a new top. So today I came back to my car at like 1am and the glove box contents are strewn across my passenger seat.

Items taken: none.

Items overlooked: $600 GPS on the dash, Stereo, CB Radio, Registration, Insurance (not too sure if one can do much with these documents but I assume you could?).

Is this the most retarded thief ever or was he looking specifically for like a gun or drugs?

Edit: quotes on broken in title

Please turn in your man card for driving a Miata.

I had something like that happen, they went through my car when I was waiting for payday so I could replace a broken window. Didn't take anything.

Your car wasn't "broken into", either

Actually, I got the car for 3k with a hard top. It was a pretty fine deal considering the condition of the car.

that logic doesn't make much sense...Some people just walk around trying car doors to find the unlocked ones...if you lock the door it doesn't mean for sure that the person is going to cut through the soft top, but if you leave the door unlocked, there's 100% chance they're going to go through your shit...

Said only by people who have never driven one.

If ultra-nimble corner carving makes me gay, than put me in a dress and call me Nancy.

My fathers jeep was once "broken" into, as in they opened the door and didn't bother to close it. He also discovered the ultimate car security system.

So much rust on the outside that no one would ever want to steal the jeep (that and they wouldn't expect the gaping hole on the drivers side going from in front of the seat and ending behind the peddles).
So much garbage & junk that no one would want to steal from it.

There was ~$600 worth of tools in the jeep at the time, they didn't even bother to rummage through the glove box.

Reminds me of this.

I hate thieves. I've been thinking of keeping a six pack in my car, filled with poisoned beer. I can pretty much guarantee that a thief will take a six pack. My problem is getting the poison into the beer. I'd like to use some sodium hydroxide, because I would imagine that would be quite painful, but I have no idea how to get it into a can/bottle of beer and still have it behave normally. Any suggestions?

Man trap. I would recommend bottles. Just get screw offs and screw em off then put it in and screw it back on.

Will the bottles still sound normal when they are opened? I don't want them to seem suspicious, that I don't.

I doubt a thief is going to notice if it does.

Well you better kill them, since if they live your ass is gonna be sued so bad. Just like that thief who fell through a roof of a house he was robbing and won a lawsuit against them.

So you leave the doors unlocked so they don't rip your hood but at the same time you leave loads of expensive gear in the car. Is this some sort of Paddy joke?

Exactly. Why not at least take the GPS inside with you?

Oh, shut the hell up, macho-meat-head-man. Anyone with half a brain can see people like you just pull shit like this to project their insecurities on other people.

The MX-5 is a superior sports-car, and it gets women into the passenger side, too. Bitch.
