My mom just bought a new Infiniti G35 for around $30k and that car is awesome! Very fast, excellent handling, and the car looks great. Plus since it's an Infiniti they will really take good care of you before and after the sale...check it out!

Does it have to be German, can it be european?

if it has to be german, get a 200x TT.

If it can be euro, get a 200x Z3 or pay a little extra for a Z4

"eat rice" A man after my own heart!
Personally, I don't enjoy driving Hondas - got a couple in the family & I'd rather be a passenger in them.
GroundedSailor: what's a FIPK?
FIPK manufaturers site
Basically improving the airflow into the engine - kinda like a milder version of super/turbocharging. FIPK is not forced aspiration like the other two. The performance gains can be felt all across the RPM range.

Here's a pic of what I have - click on the top right picture to enlarge. It makes a difference - the FIPK along with a couple of other modifications gives me 0-60 in under 7 seconds probably 6.5 - not done any real testing yet. Everyone who has driven it has been amazed at the response. Fun to play with ricers who cut me off thinking its just a stock vehicle!!

Well, now I am at:
Dodge Stratus Coupe R/T
Chrysler 300M Special
Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
Good choices any one of them.

No it doesn't but it has what Chrysler calls 'AutoStick Driver Interactive Transmission Shifter', which gives you the option of clutchlessly selecting all gear changes either up or down.

Um, you got an intake. It's nothing like super/turbocharging... those methods compress the air and force it into the cylinders, an intake mod is basically a larger tube.

Thanks all for helping me through this........although I won't be ready to buy until late summer. I am going to look at a 2004 Black Grand Prix GTP Comp G tonight and maybe test drive it. I also want to test drive the Stratus R/T Coupe.

So now what kinda deal can I expect on a car with an MSRP of $31,000?

Here are a couple different choices I am looking at: 2004 Maxima-Interior is very cool and the new design looks like it can handle with all those horses! http://www.carsdirect.com/researchcenter/factsheet?make=NI&modelid=186&acode=USB40NIC051A0&code=-2

2003 Acura RSX -50,000 mile bumper to bumper and C&D has it best in class. Looks better than the pics. http://www.carsdirect.com/researchcenter/factsheet?make=AC&modelid=367&acode=USB30ACC111B0

This site is also a great place to shop by price or make/model. Good Luck!

Well, I test drove a GTP Comp G tonight and I wish I were still driving it. Holy Cow is that thing something. I will probably test drive it 2 or 3 more times before I pull the trigger. Tomorrow will be spent day dreaming about it and tonight dreaming about it.

Just wanted to updated you all.

IIRC it still selects first automatically when you stop, and the computer can over-ride gear choice (i.e. it can upshift if you redline or downshift if you're lugging the engine). Besides, it still has a torque converter and only 4 speeds. "Smart" automatics like the "Auto Stick" system have actually be shown in some cases to be slower in acceleration when shifted manually.
