Really? Say he's one of those guys that keeps gpus for 3+ years. Don't you think it would be wise to consider the fact AMD will likely not be around to replace his card?
Not dogging AMD, its a valid point.

We are all aware of AMDs situation, its just that most don't share your paranoia.
AMD don't replace cards to customers, the partners do.

Im sure these partners will be more than willing to replace your card even though their source of revenue is cut off and you will not spend a single penny with them again. I mean look at how helpful they are today.

Has anyone had experience with an AIB who changes manufacturers? For example, XFX used to make high end Nvidia cards, now they went with AMD. What would happen if someone with a lifetime warranty product attempted to file a claim?

It could be the lifetime of the product line in which case this doesn't matter since all the higher end Nvidia cards they used to make have been EOL for a whole.

You buy what you like on your own fears and which has nothing to do with your real reasons as you have already said why you stick with NV because of features, so AMDS funds are irrelevant.

I have already answered the XFX question.

Im curious what partners offer lifetime warranties now?(amd or nvidia),i presume its lifetime as in the life of the time they sell and stock the card?shady bastards

You do realize AIBs replace products that are discontinued, or EOL all the time right? They often replace it with whatever newer current model that is approximately the equivalent of the card and/or value etc.

But i like your tactic, don't buy AMD because they will be bankrupt soon! Or their drivers.. or whatever!

AMD is not going out of business anytime soon so that is irrelevant. If AMD was going OOB ATi would be spun off. OP, both cards are good choices but if the price were the same... 7970 hands down. I have owned both of the cards and trust me, PhysX and lower power consumptions were not my determining factors.

Basically what happened with XFX was they tried to replace it with the same card if possible but if not they would replace it with an ATi equivalent.

So yeah, they still honored their nVidia lifetime warranties.

Just a personal suspicion is that I suspect those who claim AMD is going under wouldn't be buying an AMD card in any case. My other thought is that 99% of us don't expect them to be going under, at least not the GPU division.

First of all, thx for all the replies =]
I did know about AMD situation, but not so deep...
Well, i personally don`t think it`ll be a problem, so i would risk taking a Radeon anyway..

But i would like to know u guys opinion, because some of u are just discussing about the possible bankrupt and etc, but didn`t stand for gtx 670 ou radeon 7970 XD

- remembering that are the FTW edition and the black edition, respectively.

Thx for all the answers so far!!
