I wonder how it grounds... i didnt bother translating any of it, just looked at pictures...
Also, isn't one of the best things about having a case that it protects the components?
also, what about the cardboard 'wearing out' and tearing etc..

watch it...

hrm. that looks like its made from pretty sturdy cardboard, but I wouldn't want it near my desk. you know, the one where I keep cups. with liquid in them.

Learn how to link before laughing at affordable and pretty darn smart cases.

STFU. You're a geek.

And you a dumbass. Cardboard doesn't rattle like metal, so for a silent case, this would probably be better than the plastic Dell uses. Also, this would be pretty light and semi-durable. Only thing you would have to worry about is moisture and denting it. Cooling shouldn't be a problem if the case has good ventilation. Hopefully, this will be less than $10, if it is, it would a nice purchase for all of us looking for silence.

For moisture, A good coat of paint that can shield water would be perfect. Then this case maybe ideal for some out there.

Grounding wise, I figure wires that connect to the power supply chassis would do from the drives, and CDs. The motherboard itself has grounding wires already.

Shielding wise, I wouldn't trust cardboard but it shouldn't matter for the average use.

Hey there,

I hope it has a fire resistant coating otherwise it could become the next smore over a camp fire.

A friend of mine took an old p166 and a carboard beer case and made that into an mp3 player for his garage. It just sits on the shelf and plays his networked mp3's. Just looks like an empty case of Leinenkugel's.

I saw pictures of someone who put a PC inside a pumpkin-turned-jack'o'lantern. Two webcams as eyes, and a CD-ROM in the mouth.
That cardboard PC had entirely too much time put into it (more than 5 minutes seems too much time to design a cardboard case).

I've seen all sorts of wacky stuff out there....cardboard case though....heh....I'd be so concerned about potential fire with that thing, especailly with modern day cpus. But as long as you have great cooling, I guess it would be ok for a temporary solution.

Me, I'm about to start up my new project....modding an old Super Nintendo System case to use a Slot processor mobo with the slot processor fitting in the cartredge slot of the SNES. Should be fun.
