Career Change?

So lately i haven't been happy with my job. It's getting repetitive, and quite boring. Plus the pay is not that great, i feel like i have reach my ceiling. So recently, i had a reunion with a childhood friend. He had became an RN now and racking over 6 figures a year. I'm quite jealous as i don't think i will be sniffing anywhere close to that any time soon. So i'm starting to think whether i should go back to school and try to finish up. Long story short, i was in my 4th year at the University of California Davis before i got caught up with personal issue; gf, kid and then i just drop out and find a job. It's been over 7 years now and now i'm stuck with more issue, figure: morgage, kid growing up, expense. So as much as I want to go back to school and finish up degree, it's not feasible. So is there an alternative out there? or a different career where i can take classes after my job? Maybe this is just a rant, but i figure at least it is off my chest

That's true of a lot of jobs. It's doubly true of going back to school while working, with the exception being your bank account will start heading in the wrong direction for quite a while. Without knowing what profession the OP is in, giving good career advice is basically impossible, so I'll cover my bases and say you should take up competitive juggling and join Cirque du Soleil.

No it's not. I can't decide to work 80 hours this week just because.

I'm doing accountant/purchasing at a small tech company, i work 9-5 and i mention previously i can take classes after that but at the same time i don't know what profession to pursue. It would be nice to do something fast and profitable lol

Not sure what the community college situation is around you, but that would be a good place to start. My g/f is moving from interior design (lol) to web design while working and going to school. Tough but I think she can do it. You've got a kid so it'll be tough. You can make anything work if you really want it.

haha yea, i have enough units before i drop out to transfer to a State but this is when things get complicated. Tuition is ridiculously high and i won't be able to find classes after working hours lol
