Are you the type of people who look down at immigrants? or people who would have discriminated against African-Americans back in the 60s?

Certainly not. I personally would just feel self conscious going to work at a big box retail store (if in fact that's where the offer was from) after having earned a college degree. In reality I'm sure those people are very smart, but wouldn't you fear idiots like me would look down on you? I would.

Honest work is never embarassing.

I would be wary of the retail manager position. Just from working in sales I know that those managers have a ton of pressure put on them (which they in turn put on the sales team). I also had about 6 different managers during a 10 month period because they apparently weren't producing numbers that corporate approved of.

They can pull down bank. Add on bonuses and stock options, the upper management at retail big box stores pull six figures.

Of course, upper management, but they don't actually work at the actual store. I'm talking about if you had to go to "work" everyday where you "work" was an actual store itself. But if the OP is not as self conscious as me, good for him.

No I am talking about the upper management IN the stores.

Don't overestimate people's salaries, I see a lot of people do that. I don't believe they make that much.
I met one guy who was absolutely convinced plumbers make $200k/year. Ok, so there might be one, but it does not apply to all, or even most. People don't make as much as some think they do.

Ive known big box store directors and grocery store store directors. They make well over $100k. The people under them make around $100k as well.

So you read people's paychecks or is this just what they told you? Be skeptical of what people tell you.
