Not to thread crap the only time I have ever done a car fax was on my own car when they offered them free. Granted they were fairly limited but on my Cabriolet It had obviously been totaled before I got it, then I actually totaled it twice, with full insurance claims/buy back. Never showed up on the Carfax! Can't find the vin for it or else I would run it again. So information is not very complete!

You know that anything like that would be covered under Carfax warranty .. so it is always worth to get a carfax

Just a quick note.....it doesn't work for most motorcycles......then again, it's not called Motorcyclefax

It just so happens I am selling my car right now so this really helped! A new feature to car max (or at least it wasn't there a few years ago when I last used their site) is that after you pay your $1.50 for the report they let you link to it for 60 days. That lets me put the link in my craigslist posting and anyone looking to buy the car can see the report. Nice feature. Thanks for the deal slycat. =]

I was debating the Carfax thing and saw this post. The report really gives quite a bit of info about the car, happily, the car I want to buy has a clean bill of health.
