I don't know if the guys at 'id' are really serious about that stuff or not, but maybe it offends him. I know that I don't find anything 'neat' or 'cool' about it, even if it's not serious. In fact, the only people that think those numbers are 'cool', or that devil stuff is 'neat' are little angry kids that have no faith and no direction in their lives. Sometimes when young and immature kids feel lost and hopeless, they think that adding those numbers to their nickname or pretending to be into 'dark and gloomy' things makes them cool. Most usually grow out of it, and will look back and see how silly they were when they get older. But no decent god-fearing mature person would ever use stuff like that, even as a joke, and that's the bottom line. People who think 'evil is cool' are sick. I realize I've gone beyond the issue here, and I'm not trying to preach Robo, but calling someone names just because they are offended by something is wrong.

Someone will probably flame me now, or make some sort of smart-ass comment, but that will only prove my point even further. I don't know what the 'id' guys believe, and frankly I don't care. But it's not cool to call 'dfloyd' names and make fun of him just for saying what he believes.

Thanks for the sanity Domino. My main problem with it is that it adds nothing to the game. I mean Quake survives greatly without the specific symbols. I have had many friends who used to play heavy deathmatchs with me drop id games. They did not want their wifes and kids seeing this stuff. I dont blame them. I tried to convience myself that ID was just adding this stuff because they thought it was cool but when I saw their real life Apt # I began to wonder. I dont think ID is just having a sense of humor by placing 666 as their Apt. #. Maybe I am wrong. In fact I hope I am.

They appeal to kids, because of the image, which is exactly the group of people who buys those games. Why do they appeal to kids? because they like to go against the morals they were raised with, and Christianity(SP?) is one of them. Well then there's hardly a problem is there? In one year time when the game comes out the GF2 Ultra will be a standard video card and the GF2 will be a low-end video card. Also 800-1 GHz CPUs will be the norm.

That's quite a jump from a 600 MHz + GF DDR system.

I'm glad it's a long time til Doom3 comes out DNF and MP should run fine on my system, I hope...
