Kahr PM9. Pocket holster sometimes, mostly in a canted iwb leather holster though.

Thinking about picking up a subcompact 1911 like the springfield EMP, but the grip is too tall. I'm still looking for a 3" 9mm 1911 with a shorter grip.

More people own cars then guns, so yes, cars would kill more people. The fact still remains that it is legal in indiana for a retard over the age of 21 to buy and carry a 44 mag on his leg.

I am HUGELY pro gun. I own more guns then almost everyone I know. I carry every single day. I did the work myself to make sure I know how to fire, clean, carry, and control my weapon. I feel safe knowing I have it. I don't feel safe knowing that what I did is not a requirement in indiana and any idiot with $75.00 can carry a firearm. It's not too much to simply require then can hit a paper target at 12 feet and know the basic rules of firearm safety and what laws apply to carry a weapon.

Of course we could just start allowing any 16 year old to drive without explaining the rules, safety concerns, or teaching them how to use the damn thing. What's the worst thing that could happen?

Just in case you think I'm lying about being pro gun. http://www.facebook.com/photo....db56530a7&id=849374733

For that matter, neither is a firearm...but ok. There are plenty of other things more important than tightening gun laws. How many of your 'retarded-21yo-44Mag-carrying' people commit murders? I'll venture a guess that it's a lot less often than the people illegally possessing firearms.

I'm offended by topics that become inevitable flame wars........................ Just kidding. Keep on, keepin on!

I'm racist. I think people who eat meat are bastards. I think people who eat vegetables are hippie liberals. I'm pro-choice. I'm pro-life. I'm anti-smoking-guns-drinking-and-your-mom. Just kidding again. Your mom is awesome.

I have my permit but I almost never carry. I can't carry at work or even leave a weapon in the car (nuclear power plant). I live in a bad neighborhood but aside from work I don't go out that much, also my pistols are fat-ass sigs which are impossible to conceal anyway.

Back in college I had a P3AT which was great from a convenience factor, but I couldn't hit a barn at 5 yards with it

Isn't the thread about carry? I saw a lot of the replies and decided to ignore what is probably a big flame war and just address the OP.

Maybe its optimistic, but it seems general supply is slowly catching back up. This isn't based on ammo I've seen on shelves, but of other things, like prices of firearms. Lowers are back at $100, uppers not selling out within hours anymore and glocks for low 500's.

I read all the time about 'accidents' with firearms. All of these 'accidents' are not accidents at all. They are simply people who have never had any training trying to own a firearm.

I'm not saying change any federal laws. I'm saying Indiana would be wise to adopt the same gun laws texas or michigan uses.

Texas, yes, the name basically means 'carry a gun' and they require you to pass a test and class to get a permit. Don't get my wrong, I'm glad Indiana let me get my firearm permit for life for only $75.00. It was only after talking to other people who carry that I started to question that logic.

I'm not talking about a 6 week training course. I'm taking about a hour or two of safetly lectures like the NRA provides and a quick proficiency test. Things I would like to see.

can you load and unload your weapons safely
Can you shoot a target accuratly (lets say on the paper) at 12 feet
Can you safely field strip your weapon

And then a basic true false/multiple choice test on things like

True/False - Always clear a firearm before cleaning it.
True/False - If a weapon is on safe it is ok to point at people.

Things like that.

Prices are normalizing here. I can get 9mm fairly easily as long as I don't want more then 4 boxes at a time. My latest purchase (WASR-10) was a little pricey at $530.00 but still not bad.

The last one I saw (gun show ~6-8mo ago?) was $600 or $700..good to hear they're coming back down.

There are just under 251,000,000 registered passenger vehicles in America. (This includes OTR mass-transit vehicles like buses and taxis.)

There are estimated to be 276,000,000 privately-held firearms in America.

More people may well own cars, but there are fewer cars overall than there are firearms.

Handgun ammo here locally is starting to come back into stock.

Our local wal-mart, where I like to get my winchester white box ammo, had some disckscarf telling me a rule about only getting to buy one box of ammo per caliber, per day. They dont have a full time sporting goods person, so whoever is available can will help you.

After getting people from just about every other section, taking the purchases out to the car after each one, I was able to clean them out of 2100rds of 9mm and 1000rds of .40 S&W a couple weeks back.

I made sure to let diskscarf know that I got away with it too.

i have a permit but i rarely carry. I've done it maybe twice since getting it. Can't carry at work, don't feel comfortable leaving it in my car. With all the crazy shit happening these days, i really should have a gun with me.

I got a Bersa Thunder .380 and a CZ P-01 9mm for carry. I have other pistols besides those but they are full size and not really conducive to concealed carry.

How many of those 276,000,000 firearms are held buy people who carry everyday.

Compare that to the number of cars driven ever day.

I'd say we have far more people legally driving then legally carrying weapons.

None of the above. We know the facts and choose to take personal responsibility for ourselves.

Watch the video I posted, or at least read the description. That may answer your question.

A video by a guy call nutnfancy doesn't answer my question. (plus its 17minutes)
your a worried a random is going to shoot up your local mcdonalds? so your area is shitty?

Crimes happen EVERYWHERE. In the BEST neighborhoods, to the BEST people. It may be less common, but it DOES happen.

How long have you been browsing the forums just now? At least 17 minutes going by your post times. You could have left the video playing in the background. You don't necessarily have to watch it, just listen to what he's saying. If you don't have time to do that, then I don't have the time to give you an answer that you're not going to understand.

I am listening bro settle down
You gotta understand i come from an area where guns arent as freely available as in America.
I dont understand the mentality. America must be a scary place to live. I mean, i make sure i dont leave home without my mobile phone, i would never consider leaving home with a gun.

If that guy wants to protect people, then why doesnt he become a cop?

I disagree with what he says about being unarmed. You options are less, but read up about krav maga.

Fuck, america must be a scary place to live in. No offense.

Cops don't protect people, they respond after crimes are committed and take reports. Or they impose fines for minor things as a method of revenue enhancement for the state. The ONLY person who can protect you, is you. Period.

Thank you for the answer guys, i am not trying to undermine you in anyway. I am genuinely interested in this topic, and i am trying to understand, as there is such a major difference in thought from Aus to Usa(you guys have it in your constitution, we don't). I mean, if i wanted home protection i would get a rottweiler and a security alarm, or even a ka bar. I would never consider a gun.

If i wanted a gun, i would have to be a farmer or join a shooting club. Even then you have to store the ammo and weapon in separate approved lockers etc.

Not everyone in America is like these guys... They take their guns everywhere because it makes them feel like big strong men. I think they are trying to make up for a shortcoming if you know what I mean. But hey its one of our rights so what can we do? Just hope they know how/when to use them.

I was kinda thinking this. I mean you carry a gun incase you need to kill a person? Fuck.
Like i said, if you use that logic you should also carry a pony bottle in case it floods, a fire extinguisher incase of fire etc etc.

I suppose you could justify carrying a gun if you have a daughter. Or if you live in a rough area. Or if you are a criminal doing drug deals.

I do have an extinguisher in my car. I'd carry one on my person if it was small enough. I do have a daughter. I live in very good areas, but have been victimized by crime multiple times.

I have my permit but I do not carry. I am very familiar with guns, as I have been raised all of my life around them...hunting and the like. I just always trip out thinking of carrying....like if I did happen to get in a situation I would over react or some shit...I don't know.

Given the rates of people who drive uninsured, we also have more people driving illegally than carrying firearms illegally.

Might be just as many (quite probably more) people illegally driving than illegally carrying weapons too (considering people driving after suspension, without insurance, with unregistered vehicles, uninspected vehicles, without licenses and in violation of their license restrictions) - but I highly doubt you're going to get an accurate survey either way.

I've got a Glock G36: http://www.the-armory.com/shop...re/html/product50.html
My gf has a Kel-Tec P-3AT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kel-Tec_P3AT

I carry the Glock in the car all the time and carry it on my person at night and in the day if I feel like I'm in a dangerous area.
My gf carries the Kel-Tec in her purse and that's where it pretty much stays so she'll have it within reach if she's in the car by herself or out somewhere by herself or with her friends.

I also have a Browning Gold 12 gauge shotgun in the house for in-home protection: http://www.cabelas.com/gun-inv...8403-gold-12-mit.shtml

Wow, it's the "you're doing something I don't like so I'm going to liken it to compensating for a small penis" tactic.

Lame.
