I'd just like a sub 3300lbs, v8 with 400+hp, no luxury/electronic bs that didn't pertain to improving performance and handling, non-ricerish in appearance(20"+ chrome rims, whale spoiler, funky lights, etc), brand new with warranty for ~20-25k out the door.

Practically impossible, especially for the price you want it with the power. Emission and safety standards drive up costs plus no one would buy a car like that. We've had cars similar to that but they had negatives in other areas. The closest you can get to that is a WRX or Mazdaspeed 3 for that cheap.

It's called the C5Z, so why does there need to be something "brand new" ?

Just wishful thinking, cause I'd buy one.

Cause at 20-25k from a dealer, you're looking at 50-70k+ miles, interior/exterior won't be perfect. It's at least 6 years old. Limited warranty? Don't know the terms on warranties for used cars at dealers. Private sale would net you a pretty clean one for the same money, but again car is older and used.

No doubt an awesome car though, possibly my next.

Subaru Leone sportswagon and the Brumby ute

They are becoming cult classics here already (especially the ute, they change hands for stupid prices)

Mustang GT is the closest to this, although it will be higher priced, and slightly more heavy than you want.

what do you mean why, just look at it. The car is drop dead sexy and the design is timeless.

300ZX was an amazing car. If it didn't compete against the RX-7 and Supra in the 90's, it would have been that much more popular. The mid 90's had some really amazing Asian performance cars...

The Fiero would rock, if they could shoehorn the Camaro V6 into it. 300HP in that rollerskate....yeah!! :awe:

I think it sucks that GM killed off both the Pontiac Solstice and the Saturn Sky (especially the Saturn, as I think the overall look was much better than it's cousin, the Solstice). Seriously, GM.....make them affordable, and put them back out as a Chevy already!

Then, of course, there's the Gremlin.... :sneaky:
They didn't only kill the cars, they killed both of the brands that made them. It's sad, really. Pontiac and Saturn were the only GM brands that made GOOD looking cars (not sports cars, but commuter cars). Chevy is starting to come around now, though.. probably because they nabbed all of the designers from Pontiac and Saturn..

all the Japanese stuff from the 90s because I grew up loving and video-game racing them: RX7, NSX, R34, GT3000, Supra

the original m3

other stuff that's already been mentioned like the CRX-si

Ferrari 355
Countach
McLaren F1
Jag XJ 220

some others I can't remember or think of right now

The fantasy way outstrips the reality. Having driven and been driven in a 25th Anniversary, I have to report that while quick, it was actually a pretty shit car in most respects.

Chevrolet Vega?

They had huge engine compartments for an economy car. Just begging for a V8 transplant. Plus they looked like miniature Camaros.

Swap in an LS V8, tranny, and rearend and you'd be right around 3000lbs. A modern iteration would be cool.

I believe you just described the new Mustang GT.

Yeah, except the Ford website lists the GT for $30,495

Close, but somewhat a country mile from a cigar...

EDIT: of course, unless you know where to get one for $10,495 to $5,495 off sticker?
