My university sure did, and I got a great engineering education there.
But I guess you want government monitors sitting in classes and reporting to Dept of Education what is said and taught, and then the government applying financial pressure to those who say things it considers to be "extreme?"

Should the Federal Government really decide what you may or may not be taught?

The irony is that even if you agree with this someone will eventually get into office that has a completely opposite view that you do and will be able to censor the stuff you agree with and push the stuff you don't.

At the college level, excluding STEM's (I think that's the abbreviation), people should be free to learn what they want. The last thing we want is to open the door for some asshole to ban the teaching of evolution or competing cosmological theories or whatever. Proving shit is false is how a lot of scientific progress is made but you have to know the false shit in order to prove it otherwise. As for the arts, there is no real falsification, I don't want some council of ever-changing assholes dictating what is or is not acceptable.

What I think is happening here with Carson, is that far right wing religious fundie Republicans are still to this day very baffled and confused just how Obama was elected president.
