As I watched the Animaniacs season 1 discs, I kept looking forward to the next P+TB skit. Didn't really care for Slappy or Goodfeathers skits. Yakko/Wacko/Dot skits are ok if they were musico skits. Button & Mindy ones were mildly amusing.
I do agree that I like the P+TB skits in Animaniacs more than when they were in their own show. The stories sometimes dragged on for too long.

GW, same here.

I liked the references, and that was usually what you got the most from YW+D. The references to the Marx Brothers was priceless.

P+TB was great in 7 minute doses. There just was not enough backbone in the plot for a full 20/21 minutes.

Goodfeathers was funny for about 45 seconds. The dog and cat were OK, but they sang too much, and Mindy was a bit irritating after a while.


Mime time was great.

and no its not Dragon Ball, although some of them made a cameo in an episode.

I see a lot of the characters from Dr. Slump around Hong Kong. I think they are part of a big advertising campaign by 7-11. Doraemon is another one that seems to have been popular here too. He's even in PSA in elevators. :awe:

EWWWWW!!!!

Most disney toons of the last 20 years have been really poorly done.

Gargoyles did not bother animating flight, they just had an overlay of the guys and moved the backgrounds in ways that would not fit with the way their wings were moving and such.

Chip and Dale RR, horrible. Darkwing Duck? UGH! And what about Baloo and his airplane thinger show. His "son" on a croissant shaped "aero wing" that he could just surf on like an air-surfboard? Disney has almost always, in its TV shows at least, not attempted to keep the adults entertained at all in their shows. They don't even bother trying to make things even remotely realistic and their "morals" and messages in some shows are just plain weird....

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - I remember that being shown on the BBC once a week with Philip Schofield and Gordon the Gopher. It was a running joke between my brother and I that it seemed to have been going for a year and a half, although looking at Wikipedia I don't think they made enough episodes to make that possible.
