Case advice

Hello,
I need to house two 6800 Ultras, a Tagan 480-U22 and two Hard disks etc.
The case they are in ATM is far too cramped and i am worried about problems ie overheating. When i got the cards, we cut a hole in the front of the chassis to get the power cable for the GPU in. [picture if u wnt]
i just need some advice on a case to get, hopefully from some 1 who has SLi machine :s.

I'm curious as to why you are skimping by getting a cheap case when your components are high-end, specifically those 6800 Ultras. I would raise your budget if possible. Either cooling will be atrocious with lots of space or vice versa; both don't come at a low budget. Nevertheless, check out NZXT cases, Thermaltake midtowers and possibly midtower Coolermasters. Also the Antec P160, and the 180 if you can afford it.

i probly am skimping, but im all spent out.
at a stretch i may be able to consider that P160. what is the ThermalTake Soprano like. i had that one in mind.

Is it me, or do all Thermaltake products look like rip-offs of other products. I mean, they're not exactly the same, but they're really close to other designs. If it were me, I'd check out CoolerMaster stuff before I'd go with Thermaltake. The CM cases are a little bit more money, but then they're all aluminum and IMO, look better as well.

Don't get P160 case - mine was well iffy from the start -

Pain in the arse cos the hdds are so far away from the opticals. - need long IDE cables if you are going to have SATA and IDE.
Also, the pretty blue LED melted its wires (heart attack time) so, had to snip them to be on the safe side.
The drives arent' in a good position for cooling - too many drives so close to each other.
The only good thing about the case is the easy hdd installation system and the rubber gromits for the fans.

The Tagan is absolutely beautiful - wow, when it arrived it took my breath away - big heavy block of metal with loads of extra goodies.

Oh yeah,
and the mobo tray is easily removable.

doesn't 'look' good when the wires are bundled and tied - not many places to tie them to.

Case feels flimsy - and the swivel i/o panel had to be 'de-riveted' so that it was functional.
The USB/Firewire cables for the mobo are completely unlabelled - so be very sure when plugging them in to your mobo. - had to spend an extra 15 minutes double/triple/quad checking.

P160 Looks good though.
