Case damaged in shipping--bending metal BACK

Ok so I recently purchased a used custom computer off ebay.

It has the massive and heavy Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 case--probably the highlight of the purchase.

However it was packaged fairly poorly and right-side bottom front corner seems to have seen some impact. Upon receiving the system the CPU cooler was completely trashed and now since the corner is damaged, some of the interior structural metal has bent and I cant properly shut the front panel or put on the side panel.

I believe the majority of the metal involved is SECC steel. But the hard drive bays and such are aluminum.

So what's my plan of attack? Strip the system, heat the metal, bang it with a hammer?

This ^^^ Return it for poor packaging and damaged goods. I would hope the seller had insurance.

Yeah I think I might just do that. The PC isn't posting.

make sure u take pictures of it before you send it back

so the seller cant blame you for anything else.

Also give the seller the option of you properly packaging it at HIS cost for the send back, otherwise your going to send it back as is.

Make sure u also give a deadline so he doesnt hold you till after the return period.

But people seriously need to learn how to properly package stuff, and it also helps to write that its fragile or a lithium ion warning on the box.

Noticed when the mail carriers see that warning, they tend to isolate that package and treat it careful incase of a fire.

I'm going back and forth on it. I got monitor, PC, keyboard, mouse for 250. The motherboard alone is worth $100, the CPU $50. Could get 50 off the case as is considering the bent part.

I mean even if it's trashed I can sell defective parts and get my money back.

I mean it's a project PC anyways it's not a ton of money down the drain. I can recoup most of it if not all... if not MAKE money.

Ask him for a partial refund. Send him pics of the damage. eBay will back you up 100%.
