Case Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a case for me?? I'm probably looking at a larger mid-tower for a new Athlon system. It'll need to hold 3 CD-ROMs, so I'll need plenty of 5.25's for future expansion.

I also want to mod the case (blow hole if needed, window, lights, painting), so I'm not looking for an expensive "pretty" case.

I know I can scour the standard sites for case reviews, but I thought I would start here first.

I have an Enlight 7237 that I'm happy with. 4 external 5.25", 2 external 3.5", one internal 3.5". Has a space for a 80mm exhaust fan below the power supply, and a 80mm intake fan in the lower front below the drive bays. You can take a look here.

You can usually find this case with a 250W power supply for under $50, 300W for under $75.

How about cases for people who don't like to mod cases? I have neither the tools nor (more importantly) the skill. Which cases have good airflow and fans (or fan holes) already in place? Pretty much the same requirement as above. And of course it needs to have all the fancy, cool, labor-saving features (motherboard trays and such), or otherwise why upgrade??

Well, the Antec SX1030 doesn't have a mobo tray, but other than that it's great. 4 built in fan holders!

The Lian Li PC60 is a great case, but it is a little expensive at $180 shipped. For a cheap easy-to-mod case I'd recommend the Enlight 7237. I can also say that the Antec SX1030 is a great case, but that is a full tower.

I suggest the antec Sx-830. It is a very well designed case and is under 100 bucks!

you would probably like a case from http://www.3dcool.com/, like the tornado 1000, already has the fans and stuff, nice case.

The Antec 830 has 4 case fans and 1 in the Hd bay for another, total of 5 fans. It comes with 2 fans so no need to buy 4. For the price its hard to beat this case.

If you want to mod, get Enlight or Inwin....if you don't want to mod, get Antec SX830. If you want one extra 5.25&quot; bay, or a door covering CDROM, or a fileserver, get SX1030. But those Antecs are heavy, also difficult to mod.

and lastly if u have some $$$, then spend it on LianLi PC60. Everyone who can afford one like it, but I'm happy with my SX830.

the enlight 7237 is a great case to mod. to see what others have done with it, do a search on google for enlight 7237 case mods.

if you want a great case with a lot of room for expansion, go for the antec sx1030. 4 5.25&quot; bays and 6 3.5&quot; bays. i don't know if it's easy to mod this one cuz the side panels on this baby are thicker than the panels on the enlight case.
