Case to house multiple PCs

I'm looking for a case to house multiple PCs in it. I'd expect it to house multiple mobos, psu's, drives, and have seperate on/off buttons for each one. Yeah, I know rack-mounted servers are the professional solution for this but I'm thinking more for myself that I want to be somewhat transportable but without having to lug multiple cases around or a full rack (or even a baby rack).

Do these exist where I can put in standard hardware (uATX boards, low-profile hsf's, etc.)? I think ideally I'd like one to house 4 pc's but even 2 would be handy so I only have to carry 2 of these around (instead of 4 full PCs).

Thanks!

I built one that houses 3 systems in one box

Although, I don't think it is quite what you may be looking for, heh. When I say "box" I mean cardboard box

$400 for a case - that better be one bahemeth of a case!

I'd like more options if anybody else has any suggestions. Thanks aigomorla for this option - looks like almost exactly what I want.

if you buy it, your going to be on my hate list.

ive been eyeing that case for a while now....

IMHO i hate it. Would make a perfect case. BUT its a box, bulky, hard to take to a LAN, etc.... My next case will be a TJ07.

I'm not going to be transporting this thing very often at all. This is going to be my dev pc that I'm going to drop off at a client's location and leave there for months at a time and work remotely. I just want to have a dev PC (VS 2k5), a couple SQL Server boxes, and the one more for just in case or testing or whatever.

Get a UFO dualy.

Dont compare the two. Thermalcrap is absolute crap compared to a UFO.

The UFO was ment for dual system platforms. ITX is a toy computer, in comparision with the 2 C2D you could mount on a dualy.

Also the price range is far greater from a UFO and thermaltake.

you guys are comparing porsches with vw's right now. And its kinda funny.

Tell me where I can buy this and put an A64 or something more modern than an AXP and I'll buy it! No way in hell I'm building it - would buy 2 UFO Duallies before taking the time it would take to build this!

how about 1 or 2 physical computers with virtual machines running. (I have no idea how to actually implement this but I'm pretty sure it's possible)

Virtual machines are slow as crap. Okay, maybe not that bad, but too slow for me. I need better-responding machines that don't share resources so I can run a 72-hour SQL Server script while still doing things on my other 3 machines. And stuff like that.

Um, that's what quad core is for? The only time I have issues running VMs is when they're smashing the same disk. So, go with a separate disk for each VM and lug less junk around.

CPU isn't the only resource that gets bogged down. There's RAM, Disks, NICs, etc. Also, one OS running another OS has tons of overhead that slows you down. I have tried a dual-core box running a single VM and it was too horridly slow to use for development and it lasted less than a week. Hard as hell to program in VS2005 when it takes 15 seconds for Intellisense to pop up. As uber and awesome as VMs sound on paper, it just doesn't work when you need quick responses from your hardware.

Lastly, I don't want all of my machines to be 100% dependent upon one another. If I have to bring one machine down for maintenance/upgrades, I want others to still be functional. Too many eggs in one basket for me!
