CASEMODDERS: Where do you get your tools? Namely holesaws and the like

I'm looking to add a 60mm hole to the side of my case for an extra fan, but the heck if I can find a decent tool to make it. Home Depot doesn't have what I need, and the few websites that have something, don't have a 60mm saw. Could someone help me with a place where I could buy one? Also, any personal tips on making the cut, since it will be my first one, would be most appreciated.

I bought my smaller ones through my local Mobile tool dealers (Snap-On, Cornwell etc.) and my larger ones through my local Hardware store. (Ace)

I use Sears craftsman tools guaranteed for life and a hell of alot cheaper then Snap-on or Maaco

Try here, they have kits that include holesaws and are resonable in price...

RaiderJ: You do realize you actually want a hole saw that's less that 60mm, right? In fact, for a 60mm blowhole you actually want a 2-1/4 inch bi-metal hole saw. That is a standard sixe that you should be able to find at any hardware store, i.e., Home Depot, OSH, Lowe's, Ace, Menards, True Value, etc.

Dan: No I didn't realize I would want a smaller blowhole size. For the holesaws, don't I want one with more, smaller teeth? The ones at Home Depot had some pretty large teeth, and wouldn't that make for more possible screwup when cutting the hole?

A holesaw has a normal drill bit in the middle. This should keep you aligned properly when the outer blades start to engage.


Most important tip: take the panel off the case before drilling!!!!!
