That's it. I'm still scared. Good gawd. I cannot explain in words how sick, awesome and scary that movie was. So much better than Hannibal. GO TAKE YOUR GIRL TO SEE IT!

Film reviewers are pompous as$es for the most part...they want every film to be revolutionary and new....nothing about the entertainment of a movie sort of like:

Reviewer: The comedy totally revolutionized the way comedy films are done....5 stars!!!!!

I will definitely see it - the source material, like SOTL, was wonderful. I really liked Manhunter (the first film adapted from the book Red Dragon) as well, but I was a bit disappointed with its truncated ending. Enough time has gone by that I have little memory of the book or Manhunter, so I imagine I will enjoy the film. I am a bit skeptical of Brett Ratner's directing prowess, but the film has a fine cast and a great story, so one hopes he has not spoiled it.

Not REAL grisly but there are a few scenes where I was like "OMFG! EW!"
For the most part they curbed the really graphic scenes.

There's just a lot of shock factor involved.

VERY VERY well done, much more in the vein of Silence of the Lambs than Hannibal was.

Definately worth seeing, but I sort of spoiled it for myself by figuring out two key twists of the movie.

Was it my imagination or would guns change from revolvers to semiautomatic from time to time. The first time I saw this was early in the movie, and the second time I saw it was at the last part of the movie. I would go into more detail but I don't want to possibly use a spoiler.

I didn't think it was very good. Of course it was better than Hannibal but that isn't saying much. The Red Dragon character was not really well developed. Why does killing the victims in the manner he does transform them? How does he plan to become the dragon? I was not the least bit scared during any part of the movie. It does not have the psychological terror that Silence did. Phillip Seymour Hoffman did a good job though, as he always does.

Did you notice the sound being out of sync during the last 40 minutes (approx) of the movie? You would see the mouth move when they talk and a few seconds later the sound would come out. It's probably fixed by now but first day. I heard it happened all across america with this movie, A Minor screw up with technicolor labs.

KICK ASS MOVIE! Movies, in general, have been a big letdown for me lately - but this one did it for me great flick with a GREAT ending

Well personally, the movie was decent. Nothing great IMO. SOTL was MUCH better. Red Dragon did not have me in suspense nor did it scare my GF who tends to get scared by anything remotely scary. I think the reason it wasn't scary was the fact that it was SOOOOOO predictable. TOO much foreshadowing was done. If you couldn't see everything coming at you a mile away then you obviously don't pay attention to the details of the movie.

I was just overall disappointed in the movie eventhough I still feel it was a good movie. I just don't think I will ever watch it again like I did SOTL many times.

I saw it opening afternoon and didn't witness the problem. Things like that usually piss me off beyond belief.

The movie was nothing great. It was very predictable, nothing like Silence of the Lambs. Even the ending was more wanting.
