I think tomorrow seems like a good day for a Catalyst 14.2 beta. Agree?

Interesting to see what, if anything, that it brings.

Hopefully more 7000 series tweaks, and GPU performance tweaks. I believe they said they were getting CPU usages first and would target GPU performance with later releases.

They fixed the fog on mantle in BF4 in the patch today. Looks like the driver is going to fix some of the main other problems. I hope to use mantle full-time after 14.2 comes out

Sure,you get the latest tweaks before the official driver arrives.
If you are rockin BF4 with a GCN series AMD card it's a must have I would have thought.:thumbsup:

According to Fudzilla, him(catMaker) and AMD PR Guys this driver is Thief-ready(with Mantle). It too solves stuttering and optimize most of crossfire configurations performance with Mantle in BF4.

Can't wait to test it. I've seen some small subjective improvements with Mantle, nothing fantastic though since I'm using a single GPU @ 2560x1440 and have a pretty decent CPU. The only real situation I get really big improvements is when I look down one of those known-broken views on some maps, where in DirectX it destroys my performance, but in Mantle it doesn't.

I have gripes with the decreased IQ and bugs like how sometimes the game would run at half FPS, and I'd have to reboot to fix it, or how changing the graphics settings in Mantle makes it stutter until I reload the game, so I only spent a few hours playing with Mantle. Hopefully this is the patch/driver combo that makes Mantle usable for general play and not as a curiosity.

I kinda wish I had gone for a 120Hz 1080p monitor now.

Mantle single GPU is faster than Crossfire DX @ 1080p, but Mantle crossfire has poor frame distribution according to the article, still needs work.

In fact, the infamous card-killing driver (196.75 WHQL) from Nvidia was a WHQL driver.

No mantle support for Thief, for now. Its what the article states and what was announced, maybe March.

As for Mantle – nope, not yet. AMD says Thief will be patched to support Mantle and TrueAudio in early March.

Shouldn't the driver be "all-Mantle-game-ready"? The driver shouldn't be a per-game basis, it should cover the API and be up to the game developer to make sure it works with the driver...

Thanks for posting your knowledge of a calender. The point is you don't have the option of Mantle with Thief, today. Which is what you seem to be insisting.

Hopefully the stuttering issue is fixed for crossfire setups, particularly on the 7 series cards!

My point is that not depends on AMD patching(according to news)... is up to Eidos now. It means less complication for Radeon users.
