No, Garuda has a point. We should not wildly speculate about the reasons Cat is banned for. Just because he sang a few peace songs and proclaimed himself as a peace activist doesn't mean he's not dangerous. Wait for the official reason.

NBC's morning show reported this story today. They must have used the ridiculous term "peace activist" a dozen times. And they made no reference to the Israel Hamas incident. That's investigative journalism from the mainstream media at its finest for you.

The average idiot and his brother sitting at home hearing this story now think, OMGWAFFLES! All Muslims are banned from entering the U.S. because their name shows up on a list, and then they get interrogated and deported! Outrage!

Well, go to JFK, or DTW, or any other big international airport, and you'll see thousands of Muslims coming here every day with no problems. My cousin from the UK just came a few months ago, and he said the plane was filled with Muslims with Osama like beards who sat there the whole time complaining about how evil America is. He had a lengthy conversation with one on whether Sept. 11 was justified.

I've got a new spin on the story, I work in Nashville and the studio next door told me yesterday that he was coming in to record some new stuff this week. Why don't the articles mention WHY he was coming in to the country?

Makes it look like he may have been up to no good, when all he wanted to do was record a new record.

Plus, I'm sure he must've TOLD them that while he was being questioned. How that didn't make it into the articles, I'm not sure...

I'm glad that they detained him personally. Sure he was inconvenienced, but that's better than having American boys having their heads sawed off by the real Yusuf Islam, should he get into this country.

What you people don't seem to understand is that with stricter laws, there comes the greater chance that some people get inconvienced. You have to decide if making Arabs "feel good" is more important to you, or if keeping out all terrorists is.

I do have a clue about these things, it's you I think who doesn't. If someone came onto my land, took it from me for no other reason but my ethnicity, bulldozed my house right in front of me with everything I owned inside, and then threw me and my family homeless and penniless onto the street... well, I might feel pretty murderous about that too. Pretty much basic human nature right there. You treat people like animals, you get an animal response.

As for Cat Stevens, the Israeli government has no evidence that he gave any money to anyone. When your cause is not peace, then peace activists do indeed become your enemy.

WTF are you talking about? First off, you should know that I lived there and served there, so yes, I might have a source for my news that you are not privleged to. It's called first-hand information, things that I've seen with my own two eyes, not as a quick little biased soundbite on CNN. Do we really have to go into another history lesson about the UN partition plan? Nobody took anything from anyone based on their ethnicity. They were BOUGHT before '48. WTF are you talking about? Do you know that most of the houses that are bulldozed are houses of terrorists trying to kill innocent women and children? But blame the terrorists for bringing it upon their people. Israel has no choice but to protect themselves.
