anything that comes from my hand appears to be a treat, as far as our cat is concerned... sometimes I'll just give him a few pieces of his dry food and he eats it up like it's a treat.
this is what I usually buy, though. occasionally I'll give him a piece of unseasoned chicken or cut up a piece of sashimi, but he's rarely interested in people food.
Depends on the cat. I have one that will go nuts whenever I open a can because it might be tuna or salmon, and will follow me around if I have chicken. The other two can take or leave the meat, but will go bonkers to lick out a bowl with milk or ice cream residue. The third also will dip her paw in alcohol and lick that off. (Bailey's is her favorite, but I've actually caught her in my G&T when my back was turned.)
So I have the Carnivore, the Sweet Tooth, and the Alcoholic.
Yeah, I'm trying to train him not to bite, he's a play agressive but still very young (about a year old). He'll try attacking my hand at random if I try to pet him, and then other times won't do it and likes being petted. Trying to teach him to not be in attack mode so much.
Thanks.
 Those Feline Greenies are like cat crack. Our cats love them.
You got it all wrong bro, if he play aggressively you point your finger at him and say "NO" with authority. Show him who is the boss.
That seems to highlight how different their tastes can be, interesting. I'll have to try milk and some sardines with this guy.
As an aside related to alcohol, heard on the radio this morning that a vet saved a cat that drank antifreeze by intravenously giving them 3/4 of a bottle of vodka. Somehow alcohol can nullify antifreeze in the cat's system.
Alcohol can displace methanol in your system, I think. It's used in ERs when somebody drinks antifreeze too. That seems to highlight how different their tastes can be, interesting. I'll have to try milk and some sardines with this guy.
