Table scraps. When I'm preparing food, like chicken or steak, and I'm trimming off any excess fat or gristle, I toss the pieces to the cat and dogs. They seem to recognize that I'm taking turns with them.

When turkeys and such are on sale for ridiculously low prices. "19 cents a pound if you purchase $50 in groceries," I buy $50 in groceries, and get a turkey. A 20 pound turkey for $4?? Sure. Think about it - it's cheaper than cat food. Then, I don't feel guilty at all about roasting a turkey, having one meal, and putting the rest of the turkey carcass outside on the porch for the cats.

Mine is a weird one. She likes Jalpenos. Jalapenos and fake cheese sauce, Jalapeno flavored chips. But doesn't touch kitty snacks at all. Haven't found one yet, she will eat.

She also prefers dry food over wet food, and will only eat turkey flavored dry food.

I buy turkey and chicken ends from the deli section of my grocery store, break that up into bite size bits.

My brother's cat is picky but he LOVES the prescription diet hypo allergenic cat treats. Loves 'em.

My niece's cat wouldn't eat anything other than cat food. I could offer it chicken, ham, steak, hamburger, cheese, gravy, milk, etc and it would completely ignore it.

None of my cats have ever been picky. In fact, I remember hunting for crickets to feed my terrarium animals and the cats would snatch them right out of my hands. I set a lamp on the porch floor to attract moths and they had a field day eating bugs!

My old cat loved olive brine. The girl I have now likes licking my cereal bowl, and seems to like chili residue. Both her and the boy, but the boy less so, like licking fish tins.

I buy him a live mouse every once in a while. He goes nuts and plays with it for hours before eating it.

The dollar store cat treats work the best! I forgot what they are called, they are dollar store brand though. I mean they probably are horrible for him, but they are "treats". One is actually called horse, with a disclaimer saying there's no real horse meat.

My two cats love green olives. They come running with the sound of the jar opening. Sardines are just as much a favorite.

The Bengal will eat almost anything, but I've given both cats Greenies all their lives and they still enjoy it. I've mixed in other various treats over time, but the second treat I give them these days is called "Affections". I purchased 1 box from CostCo, then 2 more right afterwards after seeing how much they really like them.

I'd have to ask the wife.

I have one cat so picky he won't even eat steak if I tried to shove it down his throat that loves his dry food and sucks the gravy off his canned, and another that will eat his leftovers and still is skinny.

The one that likes the Blue Dry food even diet is the fatter one.

The wife even gets various treats, some have even not been eaten.

The big Orange Tabby won't eat normal human food, go figure, they both are a bit picky.

Had a cat 20 years ago would pretty much eat anything I would.

They are odd little critters.

Had a cat when I was a kid whose favorite snack was Cantaloupe.

Had another who went crazy for Pepperidge Farm Blueberry Toaster-cakes of all things. We went so far as to double-bag them and stash them in a metal latching bread box. She would jump on the counter, open the bread box, rip open both bags and proceed to eat every single tiny fake blueberry! Mom would come home and find a pile of shredded muffins all over the kitchen floor. The only way to keep her from finding them was to put them in the fridge!

Always go with chicken flavor and he never complains, he'll wake up from dead asleep if you say "want a treat?"
have these now:

You got it all wrong bro, if he play aggressively you point your finger at him and say "NO" with authority. Show him who is the boss.
I do, and then disengage. But you're supposed to play with them a minute later to let them know you're not pissed at them. Treats help reinforce playing with the toys.

According to this link, cats can choke on turkey bones.

Our cats are insane for Whiskas hairball treats.

My cat won't eat the Hairball treats, is there some other method of controlling hairballs? She's a long-haired cat and has had some pretty gnarly hairballs recently.

I'm skeptical of hairball "fixes". Cats are supposed to have hairballs.

Really? I always assumed hairball prevention stuff made the hair exit via the other end. Is that potentially bad for them? I freely admit I know nothing about hairballs, I just figured it can't be pleasant for them to hack up a large wad of fur every few days........

Wild cats don't get hairball preventative. I doubt it would hurt them, but you'd have to research that on your own. I consider hairballs part of owning a cat. Not a great part, but better than the doggy alternatives. I'd only think of getting a preventative if my cat was having issues with hairballs; eg not coming out either end.
