Hello-
I will be extending a Cat6 runs to accommodate a temp office. wifi is not a solution.
Wiring Standard is 568B
I am working with Cat6 which needs to be extended another 50 feet. ( total feet will be around 200)
Cat6 run currently- one end goes to the patch panel the other end is terminated with a keystone jack.
I plan to run Cat5E to temp office ( don't have a spool of CAT 6, have long enough spool of cat5E) and terminate both ends with keystone jacks. To connect the two cables together I will use 1 Foot patch cable- also Cat5E
Will this work or do I need to adapt from Cat 6 to Cat 5E. If all the ends are wiring with same standard there shouldn't be any problems?
Thank you in advance.
