people that play dirt 2 on HD5x00 hardware play it in DX11 cause their cards can handle it, people with HD4x00 hardware play it in DX10. i doubt there are hardly any users who these drivers effect that play DX9 lol

Dirt 2 uses DX9 with my setup. I've never seen a DX10 path in Dirt 2, if there's any let me know how to use it!!

Its called denial......good post

My point is.

I'm not gonna let a select few members bully me around like they do Keys and others just because they don't like what I post.

I'll post what I like, when I like and back it up with links and facts.

Not just come into a thread and shit on people with your "a troll" comments.

Now the mods do it too!
Mr Pizza called a me a marketing troll.
Unbelievable!

Posting your opinion is good.

Posting that without being complete accurate, observing all the proper words and all ramifications is also cool.

The problem (and not really a problem per se) is when you start dozens of threads, generally about 2 topics (I'm not saying exclusively about those 2 topics) - bashing AMD/ATi and praising/advertising future NVIDIA products.

When you do the above what could be considered simply some normal writing lapse can be subjected to other interpretations.

In this case, imagine you were just a regular guy with a few hundred posts and said "the cat 10.6 will give you BSOD". People would think "ok it isn't a general problem and that guy simply just didn't detailed it for whatever reason".

But considering your post history, especially recently, people can and will assume other intentions, even if none were present.

And acting as if there is a conspiracy to get you isn't very smart - that is what real market trolls do and did on the past to keep spreading the marketing FUD - because a lie repeated loads of times will give loads of hits on Google and that is what the internet is about.

What does this mean?

For the last time , I am an unemployed construction worker.
I wish I had that easy trolling job.

Edit: truth is a few months back a few members put my name next to the word troll (because they didn't like what I said) and others have followed with the attitude you speak of.
Am I hearing you right?

What does this mean?

It means that if I was searching for BSOD+catalyst 10.6 or crossfire+bsod your posts would come up.

And then next time someone is going to have a debate about NVIDIA vs ATi drivers, someone will say "just type crossfire+bsod and see how many results you get!".

But that isn't the point.

The point is how do regular folks know that you aren't a marketing dude?

What would a marketing dude do?

- Start threads praising NVIDIA - you do that.

- Start threads bashing ATi - you do that.

- Spreading FUD - you just did in this case by your affirmation that 10.6 give BSOD to CF configurations (I know you claim that wasn't your intention).

Sure, regular people do that too. And the other way around.

But you have a gigantic number of posts/threads started.

So how will a regular forum member distinguish you from a viral marketing agent?

The bottom line is if you aren't careful (and maybe it isn't fair that you have to be careful when other people aren't) some people will jump at you and then they call you NVIDIA shill and you'll call them AMD/ATi fanboys to nobody profit.

Guess you can look at this as you being VIP.

So you are saying I should have wrote "could". Ok, I can live with that.

Mabe I should have been asked to correct it ? BUT instead I got personally attacked.

Yet, I get the infraction?
Thats bullshit.

His point is that making patently false claims is an unacceptable practice on these forums. There is a significant difference between making a claim that something WILL happen and that something MIGHT happen.

Getting a stern warning from an admin to avoid doing that in the future is not, despite what you may think, a personal attack.

The bullshit, sir, is coming from you.

ANd ok'd by another moderator.
and to me it seems that other moderator (if I am guessing this right) is feeling somewhat sympathetic to you due to his own affiliation. Could be wrong, but that's what it looks like from a bystander's viewpoint. I think you were given more than enough leeways when you initiate a flamebait and get away with a mild warning while others that took the bait get a vacation for it.

Well it could be that you never intend to bait anyone, but again that's what it looks like to someone who wasn't part of that verbal exchange. Just think about how many negative posts about ATi and how many defensive posts for NV (or counter-attackish) you make daily, and it is plain easy to see why people call you names. Don't forget there is a good ole saying which goes like: if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... For a change, try researching one negative news for NV for every two anti-ATi posts and your posts would be taken more seriously, I promise. Better be safe than sorry right? Same applies to the fellow NV card owners, don't leave them out in the dark

Kudos to Dr. Pizza, it's good to see there is a good sense of fairness in moderating.

As for the cat 10.6, I had youtube videos inducing driver crashes and turning green back in 10.5. It was handled by installing flash 10.1, but the problem came back again shortly before I moved up to 10.6. Sadly 10.6 didn't do it, not even installing the flash 10.1 again. Not a big fan of Apple, but I reluctantly side with Jobs on this one. Flash in teh suck.

But it was NOT fud, It was backed by a AMD forum thread and discussed here in a thread at Anandtech . How on earth is that fud?.

The personal attack I was referring to was this...

" There is no headquarters. The problem is that, in happy's world, ATi products will kill your mother with a giant cucumber carved into a bust of Perry Como, bite off the head of your pet hamster and give you colon cancer.

On a related note: Happy, have you had your colon checked recently?

Oh, so now I have to post what everyone wants to here?
If it seems I'm pro Nvidia or ATI or Intel or whatever. It's really no ones business who or what I prefer.

As long as I'm not posting personal attacks, or going off topic and back it up with some sort of proof, I'll post how I feel and what I favor. Are we gonna start to moderate what we can post now?
Sounds like a forum in CHINA.

Again, please get the thread back on topic. Thanks. -Admin DrPizza

OK, ATI drivers are perfect and you will never have to update them with a hotfix.
Also just so you know, everyone here never has a problem with catalyst drivers and they run all games perfectly.

Anything else posted in this thread is fud even if you have a link and some proof to back it up.
The mods will ridicule you and make you out to be a marketing troll because you were personally attacked and reported a post like he asked in his sticky.
The mods might GUESS you are a marketing person and ban you.

end of thread.

Why even post?

No this was the personal attack....

Where is the ban club for this?
NO links , not on topic, and a personal attack.

I posted not once, but twice to get back on topic. You even quoted me in the previous post, so I'm sure you got the message. Maybe a week off will give you time to ponder the meaning of that message? -Admin DrPizza

While you are unemployed you could spend some time learning the spelling of basic words used in your "fairer than thou" posts.
I posted some of this previously for your information but I notice you have chosen to ignore it....guess its just a case of "keepin it real" huh.

"Here" (where you are presently)
"Hear" (the act of listening)
"There" (opposite of here)
"Their" (something belonging to them)
As you noted in your helpful posts about ATi problems, you "just report the news".....so in that spirit I am bringing this to your attention.^_^

Stop derailing the thread! You have a PM. -Admin DrPizza

This is really getting out of hand. Warnings have been issued and ignored. Yet I see no bans, some of us never got that lucky.

Anyway, I thought I'd use these drivers for a while before I post. the previous driver, 10.5, seemed to fall away in performance after using them for a certain period of time. Noticeably, these have been rock solid for me so far.

You track my post?
Then you would see the hundreds of ATI cards I recommend.

We used to go at it like this too.

Glad they are working out for ya.
I just installed them today, seem ok so far.

ugh, I think I am done talking, don't want to get involved in another vacation-fest At least it's good to see you are in good spirit.

I guess I misspoke about the flash (though still doesn't change the fact I don't like it), the youtube driver crash thing is more likely about hardware acceleration in general. Now that I think about it, I remember reading some forum post that claimed it had to do with powerplay and overclocking. Only happens when you overclock, even by 1mhz, which has been confirmed on my machine.

No probs with the 4850 on the secondary machine, should be something 58xx specific.

EDIT: then again, EVR works just fine. Maybe TMT3 is flash-based? dunno.

Thats funny. My card did that powerplay thingy with 10.2's I think.
It's been much better since the 10.4's, I can overclock just fine now in any situation. But I did notice that my core is at 400 now ( In 2d) ,it was at 157 I think.

Yeah looks like the problem isn't very common going by google searches. My system is farily clean though, not sure what exactly is causing it. I am using MSI afterburner to overclock it btw (not like it would matter anyway)

Ah ,yes it does. Msi afterburner use to keep my clocks at full overclock and freeze my system when playing movies. It also disabled powerplay for me. It also screwed with my CCC and fan speed. I have not used it in months though, it might have changed since then.

I would try getting rid of MSI afterburner and reinstall your drivers and give it a go.

It was bad enough that by the time I would load into a new game, all the vehicles would be gone and sometimes a bomb would already be set at an objective.

It would take a good minute to load a map. Once i finally got 10.5a installed for my mobility GPU's (no thanks to the worthless/incorrect modding instructions on the ati forums by a moderator) it cut it down to like 10-15 seconds.

It was nothing deal-breaking but it was definitely an annoyance, especially if i had to run all the way to the action.

Hmm, that is definitely weird. I'm not experiencing exactly that, then. My load times are roughly 10-15 seconds. In that case I'd definitely have upgraded to a fix then.

Just chiming in on the BFBC2 Loadtimes.

Updated driver to this on my 4850 512mb and my load times have greatly reduced. I went from like 15sec to about 5sec. (Note: I run everything on med. to get high framerates so I may have less to load, but even running these settings I was still getting longer load times with previous drivers.)

Haven't really tested anything else as of yet.
