what do you know.... These drivers are still broken for me using crossfire. Been borked for 3 straight months now... WTF!


Does anybody have a link to where i can voice my opinion to someone directly at ATi/AMD ?

This is complete and utter bullshit. 10.4 works fine, 10.5 works fine. 10.6, .7 and now .8 all have flickering in some games, well all the ones i have installed currently.

EDIT. For those who are wondering.... why update? because new drivers are supposed to bring improvements!

Unless something is broke I don't update. I finally got my card running the way it should, and I'm just sticking to the drivers that work.
I'm reading all these horror stories about the last 2 drivers and it just scares me.

Can anyone confirm if these fix the Borderland issues at all? 10.7a still freezes on me and I can't even play the game for longer than a few minutes.

I'm using a new copy of Win7 that I just got and installed three weeks ago.

Actually, this had been going on with my q6600 build with 10.6 and .7. About 3 weeks ago I switched to an I7 build and a fresh OS install, still have problems with the newer drivers. Problem is not me or my rig. The latest drivers just plain suck. Atleast for crossfire anyways

Hmmm... I'm real curious to hear if these will replace the 10.4's as the standard for BFBC2. 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7 all seem to have had some sort of issues with it.

I'm also keen to hear how BC2 runs with the new ones. I've stuck with 10.4a preview for a while now as it is/was the best BC2 driver. I play competitively with up to 3 matches a week, so I don't have much time to risk trying out a new driver based on how poor the ones since 10.4a preview have been.

No need.. 10.8 fixes the borderlands issues. Runs great.

With 10.7, I was getting 157/300 idle with Overdrive unchecked, and 400/1300 idle with Overdrive checked. I'm not clear from your post if that has been addressed.

I get 157mhz/300mhz at idle with a 5770 and 10.8 drivers with overdrive unchecked.

Yeah, me too - that's not the problem. It should remain at low speeds like that when Overdrive is checked as long as you are still idle. Instead the memory clock shoots up to maximum levels as if you were under full load even though no programs are running. That's the problem.

You've enabled Overdrive, then OC'd your stock speeds for both clocks, then hit 'Apply', and not have the Memory go to max "current values" while idle? What does your idle reading for both clocks show for you after doing that?

Installed the 10.8s today,so far working great with my games ,but then I don't normally get any issues with drivers.

I normally install the full package over the top on my Win7 x64,always works fine for me.

I'm getting the same 'issue' with the memory going to max even at idle on my sapphire 5850 toxic.

I'm not sure if it's just me being silly, but i'm pretty sure my GPU clock was at 765Mhz (standard), but after putting the 10.8's on, it's not at 770Mhz. Has this happened to anyone else, or did I change it previously, had a brain fart, and now can't remember?

I don't normally have issues either using single gpu. Crossfire is another story
