Not nearly as long as it took ATI to get a DX10 card to market...... LOL! just kidding. Enjoy your new drivers.
I'm sticking with nVidia as I cannot justify going to ATi on account of that cooler.

158.27 finally fixes the Deus Ex Invisible War performance problems. Yay!

And of course the typical trolling comments come from people without an ATi card. Good job.

Ackmed, if BFG10K wanted to troll in here he wouldn't have said:
So ATi's initial drivers have DX10 Crossfire support for Vista.

How many months did it take nVidia to achieve this?

Is there really any doubt who has the superior driver support here?
All he's done is say that ATi has the better driver support but worse cooler design.

The Lost Planet DX10 demo is still all messed . Still renders the same as the 8.37's.

And the Call of Juarez DX10 demo still acts the same.
With the settings turned up there was no scene output , just the hud .
With everything turned down it would work . I am not for sure which setting was causing this , since the load times are ridiculously long. I don't have time to spend a couple of hours figuring it out.

Who said I was talking about bfg? Its pretty clear that wreckages post was to troll. Then added "just kidding", so he could claim he wasnt.

Can anyone running a X1900XTX and Vista 32bit tell me if these are worth downloading?

I have the 7.4's currently.

I was only assuming that was whom you were refering to since there was no quote and it came directly after said poster. Normally you quote those who you are pointing out. My bad.

Actually the "just kidding" part does not register with you because of your severe lack of a sense of humor

My laptop actually is running an ATI GPU so suck it.

Not that it's my bidness but I dont think nV drivers and 8800 gtx,s will work any better in Win2K.

Vista's not bad! You're going to have to take the plunge sooner or later my friend. Especially if you wanna play Alan Wake, BioShock, Crysis, etc...

later rather than sooner ... none of these games are out yet
-and only Alan Wake actually requires Vista

. . . by THEN the chances of a Vista Service Pack are pretty good and Vista will finally be better than 'not bad'
--there is absolutely nothing compelling about Vista ... no advantage whatsoever at this point in time over Win2K, nevermind XP

I agree with apoppin, I can get Vista Business for free through my university, but I will not be upgrading until the following things happen: Vista SP1, Creative Alchemy for Audigy 2 so I can get EAX in my DX titles, and finally word if my nForce3 ultra has vista drivers that are worth a darn with the shipping product for the ones on nvidia's webpage say "alpha version"

And Alan Wake is still a while off, but if Bioware's Dragon Age works with XP, that will keep me happy for a while. I need a PC version of Mass Effect though, at least Dragon Age is a PC exclusive.

But back on topic, nice drivers, fixed my X1950 AGP pro's overclocking problems where 1mhz over would cause flickering.

I just install these drivers on my comp, I have XP pro 32 bit installed on one drive and Vista Buisness 32 bit on the other drive. I fully expected the results to favor XP over Vista, but that is not the case.

I just used ATI Tray Tools benchmark utility for a quick test, prob not the best way to benchmark I'm sure.

Everything I have seen or read tells me that XP is faster for gaming than Vista, but this result dosen't support that ? ? ? what am I missing, or is this utility just Borked ?

XP Pro results:
ATI Tray Tools Benchmark results.
Benchmark finished at02 Jun 2007 17:16
Device ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x5E4B)
GPU : 500.72
MEM : 530.18
Final Score =2426.50

Vista results:

MEM : 529.87

Actually, I have a pretty fair sense of humor.

And it doesnt use these drivers, "so suck it". C'mon now, thats pretty 12'ish.

The fact is you were trolling, and I called you on it. Its not anything new.

Vista 32bit with a Samsung 226BW.

As of Catalyst, there's an option called Black & White Levels in CCC that defaults to some sort of BS 'standard' setting instead of the normal Microsoft B&W levels that everyone and their dog uses. Simply set it to the Microsoft one for it to go back to normal.

Link for Image Showing Where in CCC...

the best news for me, battlefield 2142 performance has GREATLY increased, its like night and day over the old drivers in crossfire, no more flickering and absolutely smooth as silk game play. now to toy around with the new AA settings we can now use while keeping the levels set to application controlled..........

I am not running crossfire, just single card , but 2142 performance for me has been reduced , enough that I am thinking of switching back to the 8.37's.I really don't want to do that , but if I can't live with this I guess I will have to.

eww, that sucks. i honestly didn't try any gaming with just one card so i cant say first hand. try with the different AI levels, see if it helps and if all else fails just install the old drivers.

Install went just fine (previous drivers were Cat 7.2) on Vista Ultimate x64. The brightness/contrast were reduced significantly, as others have stated.
To fix the dimming problem, open CCC-Advanced, go to the "Color" tab from the left-hand list, and select "Microsoft MCE black and white levels". It should restore or even enhance the brightness and contrast which were previously dim and flat.

I am able to use full 32-bit color depth at the rated 1680x1050 @ 60Hz of my 20.1" Viewsonic VX2025M.

I did not install the Free Games (already own HL2 & assorted extras) or Earthsim (no idea what it is).
