Downloaded and installed. I like how it fixed my refresh rate on Windows 7 with rig in sig (could not change it before), but I don't like the new CCC. It takes me two clicks now to get to the same thing, not a big deal really but I didn't see a need to change the old CCC, IMO it was fine.

Could you tell me how you did this?

My monitor is a 2209WA running at 1680 x 1050 @ 59hz.

I'd like to get it running at 1680 x 1050 @ 75hz (it supports this).

When I click "force refresh rate" to 75hz, the max resolution it lets me go to is 1280 x 1024.

Thanks.

Well, for me, when setting a new refresh rate, all I needed to do was click to drop down number and hit apply and it forced it to run at that through dxdiag- however it seems I have to set it on startup each time. If I were you I'd try forcing the desktop area to 1680x1050 and then try forcing the refresh rate. Have a muck around and see if anything works, if not, you may need to use another program to force refresh rates- Google should provide some answer on this, I think I remember Powerstrip used to do it, but I think that got discontinued years ago.

Agreed. I used these for a few hours last night, so far so good. 9.6 would give me errors in F@H from time to time if I adjusted my GPU clock speed while F@H was running. So far I havne't gotten that with these drivers (or previous to 9.6 versions either).

I like selecting the options of choice and them showcasing in the main window.

Yep that is/was so annoying. I will try these out tonight.

Anyone had issues using an HDTV with these drivers? With 9.6 on my Vista x64 laptop I could select 1360x768 for the HDTV plugged in via HDMI, then adjust the under/overscan to get rid of the black bars on each side so it filled the whole screen.

Now with these new 9.7's if I select 1360x768 then under/overscan slider is greyed out. Best I can do is select 1280x720 and use under/overscan to make it almost fill the whole TV but the images look grainy/pixelated since I'm not at the TV's true resolution.

Any suggestions?

Installed last night. I noticed an overall preformance increase in the win7 64x version on the games I tried.

LOTRO showed a dramatic increase for me at ultra high settings 1920x1200 and 4xaa. Rarely dropped below 45fps, averaging low 50s on my 4870 512mg. Vsync and tropple buffering on.

Do these work on the Sapphire 4850X2, or does the 4850X2 still require a special Catalyst driver?

This is a rarity for me. I had to go back to 9.6. 9.7 broke blu-ray black levels for me. Instead of outputting 0-255 its outputting 16-235 which completely ruins any movie.

Hopefully this will be fixed in 9.8.
