How so? They don't believe the same things as Christians. They don't read the same bible. I don't even think they center on Jesus. I may be wrong though.

And wtf? We don't center on Jesus Christ? Did you even read the church name? That what we focus on ENTIRELY. The main difference is that we have a different perspective of the god head, believing that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are seperate entities, but all work through God.

At the end of the day, I'm not interested in deciding who is "Christian" and who is not. I find my own life and relationship with God to be all I can handle, and more.

Wow, I can't believe I missed a thread/debate with Rio and Netopia about Catholicism! Throw Atanasius into the mix, along with the occasional Elledan 'Human emotion vexxes me' type comment and its the old ATOT days all over again.

BTW to chime in briefly (as 300+ posts are just too many to even start with), yes of course Catholics are Christians. We do not worship Mary (praying to Mary or a saint is just talking to them, we give them no worship - just respect). The core of Catholicism is the authority of the Chair of Peter, which is a line that can be traced (pope after pope) to St. Peter himself.

Agree or disagree with the Church all you like, but it has been around since the time of Christ and is definitely Christian.

I grew up going to Catholic school and usually take their comments pretty offensively. But I'm a buddhist so I try to sensible and reasonable in my arguments yet that never ever works.

werd. i know someone that ended a relationship because the other was catholic and not christian. it seems they had been influenced into believing a catholic spouse would be a hinderance and would be better off finding a christian. some of these christian practices and retreats seem almost cult-like.
