That pic is enough for me to pull my 5870 out and list it on eBay. My spare cards (a GT240 and a HD3850) should do until it's out.

Is it just me, or does it actually look a little shorter then the 5870? Tough to tell from that angle. I'm a little surprised to see the ATI branding on it.

It does look a little short, but with the angle hard to tell. Maybe it's a 6770, instead of a 6870? 5870 and 5770 looked alike at their debut, too.

Is that a red PCB? Perhaps a nod to their heritage for the last ATI branded card. I definitely prefer black though, especially with that cooler.

Tough to tell, if we could get a shot showing the pcie power connectors we'd be able to tell.

Cayman XT is supposed to be going with the 8pin/6pin setup.

Looks like it's red from the crossfire connectors. Plus you can see red PCB through the fan vents and gaps around the connectors on the back plane.

Is the cooling rib seen on the last photo really on pcb in the first picture?

Doesnt look that "cooling" to me.

great pictures other than that!

Well, you can see the magenta colored anodized aluminum peeking through the top right mounting hole in the first HD 6300 picture, so I would assume it is.

Good eye. Looks like the cooling shroud has a few exaust vent slits near the CF connectors. I see heatsink fins too.

The 5870ish cooler repeat is very, very interesting. Is ATI destined to deliver another near perfect balance of performance/power consumption/temps/noise?

Sure looks that way....apparently NVDA think so too....

Unfortunately, the GeForce GTX 460 hasn't been as much of a hit as expected, with supply outstripping demand. As a result, prices for the already bargain priced GTX 460 are dropping across the board.
Sounds like a panic move to me.:whiste:

Now Will, we've already established that it's no such thing. nVidia is dropping prices simply because they love us.

The is one sexy looking card, the 6870 that is not the 6300.

^For the lower end...why not?

Can't wait...I'm looking forward to upgrading to one of these Caymans.

gddr3?!?!

Can't be right, on the mem bandwidth figures alone I think...

IIRC a 6600GT was ~16GB/s with 128bit/1ghz DDR3.

This is 128 bit/800mhz from that, and 25GB/s.

EDIT: 14GB/s was the AGP version, fixed for the 1Ghz figure.
