^Wasn't that amount of spending also due to a very deep recession? And bailouts for poorly regulated industries?

quiet! none of that is important, let alone that the bailout in Obama's first 2 years was passed by the Bush admin and in fact, Obama and Geitner wanted it to be greater, but the Pubs didn't want that. Bush admin wanted it to be higher, everyone wanted it to be a larger stimulus, except for the stupid politicians playing election gains.

Of course, when the economy recovers, but not at the faster pace that these very same people demanded--expressly because these very same people put a stop to the greater size of the stimulus--they turn around and blame Obama for such a "slow" recovery. It's amazing, but it's completely true. One literate individual might actually start to think that Republicans don't have any principles and don't give more than half a shit about honesty in policy.

It's a good thing for republicans that their loyal supporters are completely illiterate. They cling to context-vacant talking points like a pit bull at the leg of a postman, and vote accordingly.

sure. I guess you forgot the months of open debate, discussion, policy review, independent analysis, concessions to Repubs to weaken the bill to something more tolerable for them, etc etc.

Yes, this is exactly like how the ACA was passed, if you are someone that is blind and deaf.

I bet the fact that the comparison between this and the ACA’s passage is obviously, comically untrue will do nothing to stop conservatives from making it.

You know if you'll study history you might be surprised to find out that the Nazi's used to conduct their business late at night to reduce public resistance to their activities.

It always boils down to rationalization...one has to shove a handful of their own liberal shit in front of their face before they reluctantly admit 'yeah we shit' but then immediately rationalize it away by saying 'but your shit stinks worse'. Both parties are hypocritical as hell and this kind of horseshit rationalization is lost on me.

I like how you just invented a complete fantasy for the sole purpose of dismissing it as a bothsider. Truly remarkable, but unsurprising.

Lol...Trump just said that the corp rate could be 22%. His own party couldn't muster the votes to raise it from 20% to 20.94% for a fatter child tax credit that would help the middle class.

Messaging, how does it work?

New question(s):

Can POTUS or VPOTUS sign bills into law if they are, at the time, engaged in an active indictment or perhaps in the process of impeachment hearings? (haha, not that this Congress would ever agree to starting such hearings at this time, but with reality sinking in, they may have no other choice?)

Secondary question: is it ethically defendable for a Speaker of the House, now serving as active president, to sign into a law a bill that he worked on crafting as a member of the House? (would that violate separation of powers via checks and balances?)

I don't see any of this becoming reality, obviously, but we live in interesting enough times where such situations have never been more possible than they are right now. Weird, eh?

There is no constituency for this bill except rich Republican donors.
When GOP loses control, all these tax cuts will go poof.

I wonder if the 70 year-old dotard will ever elevate himself above 3rd grade playground rhetoric?

At that age? Unless some miracle drugs are invented to cure brain damage, his condition will only deteriorate from here on out.

Yes, my taxes are going up (unless something has changed enough in this lately to change that I don' t know about).

Oh, and this isn't about Democrats that you brought up so it's a #Whataboutism moment.

And as far as I'm concerned, any Republican that complains about deficits again needs their damn ass kicked.

The lootocracy is basically raiding the Treasury. MAGA means Make Another Gilded Age.

Except they don't even bother selling trickle down anymore, it's basically raiding the Treasury because their donors want even more money.

Since there is no option for head of household, which is being removed under new plan, I'm not so sure that the difference will be even more than $258.

I think that is a good point. Freaking either they can't read or won't read. I don't know which one it is.

The point is they stay stupid with an abandon that if set to music would be the saddest musical ever. Given a choice I'd never watch it.

Raiding university endowments to pay for tax cuts to corporations. Disgusting. I was a low income kid whose education was paid for by a university endowment like the ones GOP wants to attack. Hopefully these universities will stop admitting children of Republican politicians, but they are too nice.

Looks like I'm getting a tax cut if that form is accurate, but only by about 18 hot and spicy chicken sandwiches.
