Obviously CAD feels strongly about this movie. One has to wonder why?

<<People need to know that this is NOT an accurate portrayal of Reagan and that NONE of the Reagans were consulted or interviewed, so people know before watching this that it is inaccurate.>>

Seriously CAD, don't you wonder if whatever is making you so emotional about this film is affecting your viewpoint at all?

Maybe you should tell your wife to hide any sharp objects before this film airs. j/k

Yes, I object when people slander Reagan, because he was a good man and a great President. Regardless of your party affilition - Reagan doesn't deserve to have his Name and his family drug through the mud and be lied about and portrayed in this manner.

I'm not overly emotional about this movie - I'm getting more pissed now because people are trying to attack me and my stance that it is trash. People seem to want to portray my stating that the movie is trash as some quick partisan dismissal - well - it is not. I've repeatedly stated that I have taken time to judge this and have based my judgement on a multitude of things.

Oh, and I've already told my wife not to let me watch it

Yeah right, you know you will at one time or another. It's like a car wreck, you know it's horrific but you can't help looking at it as you pass it by on the road!

Funny story about Mike Reagan....

In his autobiography, On the Outside Looking In, Michael Reagan, the adopted son from Reagan's first marriage to Jane Wyman tells this story: It's a beautiful June day in 1964. Reagan is the commencement speaker at an exclusive prep school outside Scottsdale, Arizona. Reagan is standing with several of the seniors, who have been invited to pose for pictures with him. He chats up each of the graduates, and to one of the boys says: "My name is Ronald Reagan. What's yours?" The boy says, "I'm your son Mike." "Oh," says Reagan. "I didn't recognize you."

I'm not so sure about "estranged" but yes - they became closer later in life. I remember a letter of something that Ron wrote to Mike when he was about to get married again(1975?). Something about not getting in trouble for saying "I love you" once a day...or something to that effect. Mike talked about it and I read it(the letter) online somewhere too. There was a bond between the two, and I'm pretty sure it got stronger over the years.

Now I pose a question - if your father and family were about to become a mini-series, don't you think you'd be pretty pissed if you weren't consulted/told about it and then it came out and told lies and blatantly made things up?

Yep - you'd all be pissed too. That's why I didn't rush to judgement - I wanted to see for myself because all the other pieces fit...it's just that I hadn't seen the parts of the script nor had I head parts of the movie. Now that I have heard/read them - I deem it trash

Oh, I'll watch it - either before or after, but not that night.

The more I read about this upcoming 'Made for TV Movie' about Ronald Reagan,
including the stuff about Mike Reagan - the more disfunctinal it appears,
It may be more like the Osbornes - Staring Ronald and Nancy.

"Hello, I am your president - I am Iron Man !"
