CD Key retrieving floppy disk

CD Key retrieving floppy disk or bootable CD for windows 2000, do they exist or just a myth?

If they do where can I find one? Google is being less than helpful today.

Needs to be bootable or otherways work in DOS, windows can't load on this comp to retrieve CD key for formatting.

Windows 2000 is bootable for installing windows.

So basically you want to retreive the password off a current 2000 install that is no longer bootable?

No I meant what I said, I need to get the CD key. The current windows installation is broken beyond repair and needs a good format and reinstall. I have no physical record of this CD key so I'm hoping there is a way to get it from DOS mode.

If you can get a bootable windows 2000 CD, this utility will extract the CD key for you.

Another thought if you can't get it to boot. Run jelly bean on a machine with Windows 2000 installed and use Filemon to see which file contains the CD key. Then boot into DOS, Linux, etc and copy that file to a floppy on the machine that is dead. Then put it on the other machine, the one you ran jelly bean on before, backing up the other file of course, and jelly bean should give you the key from the file you copied. I know this seems like a long way to go, but you asked
