CD player question

I have a Panasonic SX270 and it won't even read my Memorex 80 min CD burned at 8x. But when i put in a regular pressed CD it works perfectly. Is the problem that i'm using a 80 min disc, i'm buring it too fast, Memorex has poor quality disc, or that it can't read burned disc?

it appears to me your CD player is picky.

Some drives don't like CDR's... you'll probably need to pick up a better CD-Rom

Have you tried your burned CD's in a standard cd player?

If it works there it is definetly your CD reader.

The Panasonic is a standard CD player. The CD will work fine in my computers CD-ROM

That is common from older CD players the lasers were not made very stong, they had difficulty picking up the reflections off of the weaker burn made by the computer lasers. they were a lower quality than the ones in a computer. newer one normally no longer have that problem. the same is true for burners too, old ones didn't leave as good of a burn.

may be the problem, I have a new burner, and haven't found a CD player that doesn't work, even my SONY from 1987

Well, it was burned from a Yamaha 8424 burner. And my CD player was made in July 2000. So i would say both of those are pretty new.

weard, well I'm tapped out of ideas, unless your burner only records 74 minute cd format.

It was CDR media, i guess i'll slow down the burn speed and use a 74min disc
