CD Reading Problem

I have a Plextor PX-W4012A CD-Writer, and it is constantly failing to allow installation of programs off CD's. When I put a CD in to install, the writer seems to read the CD no problem, and the Windows pointer changes to the processing pointer for a few seconds as to indicate that the my computer is actually attempting to read the CD, but then everything just stops. The program does not install.

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

RMA it..if it won't read other CDs(audio or data )
