Exact Audio Copy

The only ripping program to use in Windows if you want exact copies of your CDs.

personally i use audiograbber... it's never failed me in the 5 years i've used it. it has won a pageful of awards from the likes of tucows, cnet, and even the Phrozen Crew (if you know what they do...) it's freeware like the above two.

I used to use Audiograbber then at some point it went to payware. Is it free again?

I then switched to CDeX, nice little program and Lame is already included in the program download.

This one is AccurateRip compatible (if your drive supports it) and free as well. Support a bunch of codecs including lossless.

It is pretty good but I have used and tested every audio software out there and for results oriented people then EAC + LAME is by far the best available.....free or $$$.....luckily it is free.

Yep, I use EAC with LAME, and here's how I do it.

Configure EAC to rip to WAV files, each file named in the format I want (using CDDB to get the names of each track). I then rip HUGE batches of CDs to a BIG honkin' hard drive. This saves time for the user in the long run. Do as many CDs as possible. Make sure you rip each track into the same folder.

When you are done now you enrypt them using Lame in a batch. You can now walk away - no waiting for track to encode. The only time u spend on the PC is ripping..

Good luck actually figuring out my method without step by step though.
