How does this work ?

Do I need to make this audio disc the same way you make an audio disc on a CD-R ?

Or do I just drop the .wav files on the disk ?? cause both dont seem to work.

First of all, when I just copied the .wav files to the CD-RW disk it didnt play in my CD player(it did play on my computer when I double clicked on them) and when I wanted to make an audio disc(just like when making one on a CD-R disc)the program says that there isnt enough space on the disc.

Any ideas ???

CR-RWs work just like CDRs with one obvious difference. The problem is with what is not obvious. Most CD players cannor play RWs because the disc is not "reflective" enough. I read somewhere (could be way off) that a CD-RW is only about 20 - 30% as reflective as a CD-ROM.

In your cases does the CD-RW play in your CD-ROM or CD-RW drive? I know that all my devices (DVD, Car CD Player, Discman) all play RWs fine but only the computer will play CD-RWs. If your computer does not play the RW, you might be trying to make a data as opposed to an audio disc. What software are you using?

Yeah, you have to either buy the cdplayers that specifically say "Plays CDRW" or something like that, or do some reasearch and find out which ones play CDRW. My friend just bought an AIWA and it plays CDRWs.

why use cd-rw's? cdrs are cheap enough these days.. buy a spindle of that, and use those.

and make sure you're making an audio cd and not just burning wav files onto a CD.

I agree with lnguyen. CDRs are so cheap, it's not worth fooling around with CDRWs.

I agree with the 2 guys above. I preferentially buy medium to high quality CD-Rs, since I found out that:

1. I have trouble deciding what to erase, and looking through a lot of discs to check that there's nothing important on them is a pain in the a$$.

2. More important: my stereo accepts CDRWs, but quite often start "skipping" tracks. Better to go with good CD-Rs, like Kodak or TDK.

I agree with lnguyen too. I fact I don't have a rewritable drive.

Check out item #84342 at Outpost.com. I know this isn't hot deals but a 200 (4 x 50) spindle of 8x Kingston CDRs go for only $54.95 with FREE shipping FedEX Overnight. Not a bad deal huh?

I have used the Adaptec software !! also used Direct CD for the formating of the disc.

You guys might be absolutely right and that I am just waisting my time with the this damn CD-RW audio disc...

I still cant write to the disc using Adapatec Easy CD creator(Audio CD).....still says the CD is full.

I will keep trying though, damn thing cost me $10.....

Have you tried "erasing" the disc? A failed write attempt could have caused problems. There are many freeware utilites that handle the task.

You have to author the CD as CDDA (CD Audio) if it's formated to packet/direct cd it will not work.
