http://www.cdc.gov/features/diabetesprevention/Amazing but true: 86 million American adults—more than 1 out of 3—have prediabetes. What’s more, 90% of people with prediabetes don’t know they have it. Could this be you? Read on to find out the facts and what you can do to stay healthy.
This is insane. Luckily it's reversible. I'm pretty sure I was going down that road during my MMORPG days before I realized I was wasting my sweet genetics on something that will never matter in the end. People who are addicted to video gaming and/or TV shows and/or sugar, it's time to wake up now.
You can reverse this if you make that change today. First change what you eat, and then try to pack on muscle as a calorie burner. Otherwise you're going to be injecting yourself with an insulin needle for the rest of your life or need to wear a pump that will inject you for the rest of your life. Ask people here with diabetes if they would have done something if they knew they had prediabetes and I bet they would have. It's a terrible affliction and its ripple effects can be debilitating:
Diabetes affects every major organ in the body. People with diabetes often develop significant complications, such as kidney failure, blindness, and nerve damage, which can lead to amputation of a toe, foot, or leg. Some studies suggest that diabetes doubles the risk of depression, and that risk increases as more diabetes-related health problems develop. All can sharply reduce quality of life.
