CDResQ restore question..

I just backed up my old hdd with CDResQ then installed a 45g 75GXP. I only fdisked and formatted 30 of the 45gigs. No partition yet for the remaining 15g. My question is that after the restore the full 45g now reports as my primary c drive. Prior to the restore chkdsk correctly displayed 30gig but after it's now 45g. Why/how did this happen?

The backup program you used had an fdisk/fomat routine before it restored the files.
There are a lot of partitioning programs out there. I've heard nothing but good things about Partition Magic(By Power Quest think ). Youcan use that to split the partition on an already working system.
