hi i want to about cdrw. i want to buy a cdrw , but i'm confuse with internal cd and external cd. which one is better and can u please tell me name of the cdrw brand. I knew plextor is the best , but i can't afford it. thx
Externals are limited by the connection speed - using normal USB, you are limited to 4X speed. To get above that, you have to go firewire which probably means adding a firewire card to your PC, or going USB 2.0 which will also mean adding a card to your PC.
Check out the Yamaha 24X 3200 series. You can find for around $99 with rebate. It's faster than the TDK/Plextor/Lite-On 24X drives and only seconds behind the 32X drives. This is because it records in a different manner and doesn't stop recording and start again several times like the other mentioned brands do. It also comes with an 8mb buffer instead of 2mb. It has Safeburn technology to prevent cd rejects or "coasters" and includes Audiomaster which makes the best quality copies of music CD's.
