I like the sounds of that ST6 board. Of course the attractive thing about the 1.0A Cely over say an Athlon XP rig is I can use my same case/PS and memory which will save me a minimum of $150 making the upgrade effectually half the price.

So assuming I use my same memory which is: 1 128 mb stick Micron PC133 7.5 ns, and 2 128 mb sticks Kingston PC133 Value RAM 7.5 ns. What kind of stable OC will that memory take roughly? I'm guessing maybe FSB145?

On advantage of biding my time I'm hoping is that I'll get one of the newer Cely Tualatins which will hopefully OC better. I've noticed this trend in the industry, the later chips seem to improve, usually with new steppings, although I don't think Intel has produced a new stepping Cely yet.

Has anyone seen if the 1.1A is giving nice easy OC's to 133 FSB or better also?

I would keep away from the Intel Application accelerator. I have tried some Busmaster drivers in the past. Absolutely no one had any real advantages over the MS drivers but you are running into trouble very easy with them. I don´t think IAA is any better. I never had any problem with the MS original IDE/ATA drivers. I only use the inf-update for the chipset with WIN98SE and my TUSL2-C. I think should be the same with ME.

TUSL2-C also have Suspend To Ram and it works. One of the strongest points of the TUSL2-C is the recovery system when you have gone too far with overclocking. I´m just missing core-voltage under 1.475 V. As my new Cel 1.0A runs 155FSB with default voltage it should also run stock speed with much lower voltage than 1.475.

I bought 2 TUSL2-C´s and one of them likes overclocking more than the other. They look completely the same but the better one is made in Taiwan and the bad one is made in China. Seems you have to look not only with CPU´s for the plant! Never saw a China made Asus board before.

There were no advantages to the TUSL2 that I could see. I could actually OC more with the ST6. There is no way you can hit 190fsb with the TUSL2. If you OC to far with the ST6 it is very easy to work with also. All it does is reboot usually unless you go way to far then you have to manually reboot it. If you go way to far you may have to reset the bios. I have ran 6 different tualatin chip sin this board. Never had a problem with it going to far though since from experience I know when it is going to start acting up by the way windows loads. Usually if you go to far it simply reboots at default speed and vcore.

well, here is the update:
got my AGP Radeon 64 DDR VIVO, and guess what? it is defective too.
Now I have a defective Radeon and a defective MSI mobo. cool!
The Radeon only displays image when you boot from a power off state.
If I restart the PC, (with CTRL-ALT DEL, for example) then I lose the image
or I get just green lines in the screen.

I managed to install it, though. And it works, apparently.
My satellite TV card has improved a lot, but the rest of the problems
stay: IAA-WMPlayer interference and System Restore won´t restore.
Also I have noticed a very hard problem: with no applications open,
the CPU utilization (measured with System Monitor) can be as much
as 80%. (IAA uninstalled). In fact, I had this problem from the first day of my mobo,
but I thought I had solved it ... and now I see I didn´t.

SO, I will return BOTH the AGP and the mobo.
I have spent, say, 100 hours so far with this mobo, and I am very angry.
So, if possible, I will try a TUSL2-C, even if I can´t undervolt it (the MSI can´t either, anyway).
Also, the TUSL2-C allows IRQ assignment in BIOS, that can be useful because
it is advised that my TVSAT gets an exclusive IRQ. Anyone knows if the IRQ´s assignement
in BIOS works?

I won´t buy the ST6 because it is not available at the vendor that sold me the MSI.

hmm perhaps it is just the mobo that is also interfering with the AGP, I don´t know

I talked to someone recently who has been building computers for others and has tested 5 Celeron 1.0A CPUs. She got a lot of variability between these for OC results. But I should stress she was trying to OC to 133 FSB or better with standard voltage only, no voltage tweaks. I think she was able to get ALL of these 5, plus her own to post and boot to windows without the Wire Trick, which sounds pretty cool to me. Most of the chips she bought were manufactured in Malaysia in December 2001. Some have mentioned that the more recent batches have been OCing better. What delineates a "recent" 1.0A? Expect manufacturer date is newer, duh.

Any comments on my Qs from my above post? Expected max stable FSB on mem I listed? Reviews on the ABIT ST6 mobo? Thanks.

You want reviews on the ST6, go here. The tusl2 causes problems you may not want to deal with. I recommend staying away from the TUSL2. Apparently the board made in China is not as good as the ASUS board made in Taiwan. I am thinking possibly one is a knock off and not made with as high of quality parts. My TUSL2 board sucked. The ST6 has a very large amount of options in the bios also! Most mobo's I have seen have the options it seems you are looking for for IRQ assignments.

techwanabe:
My 1A is from Philipines. It is one of the new ones.

Chemhaqr:
My MSI apparently sucks (I ´will return it tomorrow, I hope). Now you tell me the
"legendary" TUSL2-C may also suck if it is manufactured in China.
My vendor doesn´t carry ABIT.
This is cool, when I decided to buy this 815 chipset, I thought it was a mature
chipset and mobo manufacturers wouldn´t have problems to implement the boards.
Now its frustrating.

The MSI doesn´t allow IRQ assignement in BIOS.
