Celeron 566@952 1.95v...47-49 celcius fullload..safe??

i have my celeron 566 to run at 952 at 1.95v vcore...with self made double heatsink, dual fan and one big case fan blow at the them...and manage to maintain a temperature at 47-49c full load...37c at idle under win2k...no crash run seti@home for days...

issit safe to keep it there?? it can boot at 1003mhz...but crash when play games...

anyone can comment?? thanks...

what mb are you using(important to determine how you are getting your cpu temp).


Also, if those are diode temp readings, they are "OKAY", but the voltage is awfully high.

err....i have a DFI CA61...i read the remperatur from bios...this board dun have a voltage adjust...but i made a jumper board and solderd to the back of the board...

P3s/C2's are rated to 80C, so you should be okay, but at that voltage you're definately going to be shortening the life of your chip.

That's a killer voltage dude. But if you can keep the CPU below 50C then you are OK. You might upgrade before the thing die anyway. The important thing is the temp not the voltage that kill the CPU. The temp is what shorten the life of the CPU. Your temp sensor must be directly next to the core of the CPU and not on the heatsink. Putting the sensor on the heatsink is no good since the more heat transfer the hotter the heatsink which is better but what is the temp on the CPU is most matters.

im pretty sure 1.95 is gona kill his cpu real fast and I doubt those temp readings are from inside the core itself.

How do you know that isn't a cpu diode reading? is the mb a via based mb?

how fast would it be??? will it be iwthin 2 years??? if longer than that i would not care about it...but if shorten then that i may think of run it safe at 875mhz at 1.65v...

The fastest I've gotten my cellermine to run stably is 957mhz. (8.5x112mhzx1.9v) It posts at 980, but reboots upon loading OS. It will not POST and 120 bus (over 1ghz), possibly due to the RAM not taking the frequency. (it's only PC100, but it's Micron) It will however run stably @ 957mhz w/ a golden orb, < 50 degrees C. (46-48) Will this likely narrow the chips lifespan by a considerable enough amount to cause worry? Has anyone actually burned one of these? Lemme know....
