Celeron M 350 (1.3gHz) vs. Pentium M 735 (1.7gHz) or Pentium M 725 (1.6gHz)

OK - here is what I have working. I have a Toshiba MX35-S161 that the AC power socket broke off of. I resoldered the AC jack and we are back in bidness. In the interest of squeezing more life from this machine, while I have this thing torn down I was wondering if it would be worth it to do an upgrade to the CPU. It currently has a Celeron M 350 (1.3gHz). There are various CPU's for sale on Pricewatch. The ones that seems to be the best bang for the buck is the Pentium 735 for $22 shipped or the Pentium 725 for $12. I also plan on upgrading the RAM from 512mb to 2gb but that is an easy one after I put the laptop back together.

The question I have is it worth it to go from a Celeron 1.3 to a Pentium 1.7 for the $22

OR

go from a Celeron 1.3 to a Pentium 1.6 for the $12.

for the price, yes.

however, make sure your CPU isn't hardwired to the mobo before you go ahead and make the purchase.

Also, make sure that the cooling system can handle a hotter CPU, and that the motherboard properly supports the P-M 735.

Well - I think its a moot point now. I finished up the solder job and the sucker won't boot now. The battery charges, the power button starts the fan, but no boot / post / nothin! I tried my all purpose IDE multicable to access the HD and it makes the click of death - so I guess the HD is boned as well! Thanks for the input anyway guys!

laptop hdds have become really cheap.
might still be worth setting up as a WHS or something.
Not sure if it is worth upgrading the CPU ...
