Cell Phone Antenna Enhancers

Has anyone used those cell phone antenna enhancers? They are a small plate of metal that sticks to the back of the battery covery on your cell phone, it supposedly increases reception. Has anyone used these and know if they work as claimed?

i got one off ebay for about 2$ just cause i figure if it does work that would be nice since the reception where i live isnt so great, and they really dont help at all, so Id say dont bother.

Sounds interesting, I know I saw them on one of those late night infomercials but cant remember who made them.
