Cell phone jammers, for or against?

Those little personal handheld jobs, do you support there use? I can see where they would be handy (Loudmouth at the movies...*zap*!) but I can also see how they could cause problems......
So what say you ATOT?

sorry but if you MUST make an important life or death phone call on your cell phone, i would definately go outside away from the crowd and noise, whether it be dining or at the movies.

depends on where they are. I'd have no problem with them in a movie theater or restaurant, as long as the jamming range ends right outside.

I wouldn't mind them in movie theaters. It would eliminate the annoying rings of people who leave their cell phones on and for those of us who are required to have their cell phone on for work would have a valid excuse as to why we couldn't be reached.

I have to put my phone on vibrate and if I get a call during a movie I have to go outside and call the person back missing part of the movie, which sucks. If they had jammers I wouldn't have to get their call and I've have a valid excuse as to why.

I don't think that just anyone should be allowed to have a jammer though, it's guaranteed people would abuse the jammers.

Why not just turn it off, or ignore it and ring them back when you get out of the theatre?


Mobile jammers are fun to play with (my mate has got one) but I wouldn't like to go to a place where they have them installed. If i'm somewhere like a restaurant or theatre, i'll ignore the call then call them back later, or answer it, tell them i'll call back, or if it's an emergency, get out of where i am and call them back.

Instead of jammers, why not just hand out stones when people go into the theatre and handle things the old fashoned way?
