When you replace your phone's battery with a brand new one, do you lose your address/phone book ? I don't have another battery yet to find out.

I know older phones like my old Nokia had some numbers stored on the phone (SIM card in my case) and more could be stored on the battery. So when I took it out, I DID lose those numbers.

But newer phones will keep them on board.

I have yet to let my battery die all the way. Once it starts warning me to recharge, I turn the thing off completely because I've always been afraid of losing my contacts list.

I have two batteries for my cell phone and when I do a battery swap, all the information is still retained by the cell phone.

Shouldn't. Kinda like if your PSU blew or if you had a 12 hour blackout, your data is stored on your hard drive not your PSU....

that's weird.
I swapped the battery with my friend all the time when my phone ran out of battery.

Cell phones use CMOS technology....You won't lose the settings unless you clear them out.
