Damn I wish I could get data that cheap. Cheapest plan here is like 45 bucks with 100MB cap... what's the point of even having data with such a ridiculous cap.
Sure is. They just put 4G in my area, and I'm getting the Evo V next month. For a whopping $35 per month.
Just be prepared to root the EVO V and go S-OFF so you can load a useful ROM/kernel (I use Harmonia and Anthrax respectively) with bloat removed and so you can flash a new radio/PRI/etc to avoid the dreaded Radio Interface Resource Shortage errors when texting and a severely fluctuating signal. Really, the EVO V is pretty useless as a, you know, phone before you do all this.
Just switched from Verizon to Page Plus and gave up hundreds of dollars in loyalty and renewal bonuses to do so, but I couldn't be happier. My monthly bill is cut roughly in half for the same network. And now we have included a lot more data and messaging.
I doubt I'll ever sign up for one of those two year handcuffs again.

Only with huge stacks of cash. It is $.10/mb after the 2gb allotment on "The 55" plan.

ACtually, its quite easy to brick a droid phone as compared to an iPhone which is basically impossible to brick
