Well, the fact that the poster at CDRinfo said it displays "Lite-On" on the tray did it for me. I don't know if I'll keep it or sell it on eBay but it's too good to pass up.

My total was $81.37-$20=$61.37. These are going for $100 on eBay - or maybe I'll give it to my step-son and sell his Digital Research 16x which says its a Lite-On 16x on the drive and is recognized by Nero and Win98 as a Lite-On 16x.

I added these paper clips to put it to $100:
