I got a big time question. After 4 phone calls (10 minute holds), 3 CSRs, and 4 faxes I finally got my order in. The last lady says that I will charged the full amount, then reimbursed $20 on my credit card separetly...it that the way the price match for a OD coupone works (2 transactions on your credit card?)

They are out of the Cendyne drives.
CSR then offered me the 40x12x48 Polariod.
And CSR told me they couldn't take the $20 off $50 OD coupon because they know it says for in-store purchase only, so I told CSR to use the $15 off $50 OD, which is still not bad.

They are running out. (Must be a clearance item for so low).
Give them a call, but it looks like they are on to us on this one for the OD $20 off $50. But just play by their rules and it should be okay!

Just a quick question for the CD player.
We send in the form and then they send us the CD player? It doesn't come from OM, So it is a Free Mail-in-OFFER right?

When I wanted to ude a coupon, she told me to fax it to her, and that the coupon would be credited to my credit card later. It looks like that is the way they do it. This sure was a great deal. even if I do pay the 19.99 for it, I dont care. I REALLY needed a new burner. Thanks for the deal! and sorry to those of you that couldnt get a cendyne

Please help me on this.....

I called today to see if my $20 credit was going to come in (see my above post) and they say no because when I placed the order although I faxed the coupons and proof, the CSR says she needs the coupon # for the OD $20 off of $75....Now I had gotten a link from another member and it showed a $20 off $75 that you can put in your cart and everything but what the heck is the coupone #???? Anyhow, this is just b.s., I don't ever want to place another phone order with them....takes forever to find out if the deal goes through and you have to keep calling back....

What the heck is the coupon # anyhow???

Go to the forum at fatwallet.com and search (in the title only) in the hot deals forum for STAPLES. I'm not sure but I believe there may be some with a coupon code number. Good luck!

It sounds like OM just changed their policy. Up until a couple days ago they'd just accept any OD coupons/discounts that they new were valid. They told you to give it to the driver but most of the time they used UPS.

Now if they ask for a faxed coupon what do they accept? The OD online coupons are all links to an automatically applied discount vs. an actual coupon or number.

With Staples going to one time use coupons, OM getting anal about competitors coupons, and everyone going to a "net" PM policy, the hot deals will be tougher to configure.

Quick question, as far as the copies of the reciept and UPC are concerned, for the CD player, will it be ok if I scan it and print it out, or do I need to actually go to a copy machine?

On this late drunken evening I grabbed one at the ph# for $23 after MIR. CSR wouldn't budge on the "in store OD coupon". It should be noted I'm quite charming.

Could someone answer my question from above?

Hmm.....I don;t think there will be any difference by scanning and printing it compare to copying it, unless you are printing it using a dot matrix printer. I print using a lser printer and it comes out better than a photocopied

I think you can convert it to liteon. go to cdfreaks.com and search for Verbatim, and some threads will show you how to convert it to liteon.

Ditto for me on the Liteon. Got mine yesterday and the BIOS reads Liteon LTR40125S (sweet!!).

Johnbear007, I went to rebateshq.com and found the rebate form online and the zip on the address is 78502. If you have not been there, you can register your rebate with them and put all of your info on it. Then you print off the rebate and mail it in. This sets up your tracking on your rebate.

"I" *wink, wink* ordered two more yesterday. One for my mother in law in the afternoon. Had to call twice again to get a CSR to give the right price. This one will be $7.xx after rebate. Used the OD $15 off $50.

Ordered second one for my mom last night. First CSR I talked to gave me the right price, but the conversation was a little frustrating. He asked for the item number and I gave him the Cendyne model. Just as I finished reading the number to him he kind of chuckled like he knew what I wanted and then said:

"I am sorry those are sold out. You are about 48 hours too late."
I said "really, my "brother in law" told me he bought one just this afternoon."
"No offense sir, but I don't think so.........Oh, wait a minute. There are about 7 in Denver. How many do you want?"
"Just one."
"Ok, there is a $40 IR on that item. Is there anything else."
"No, can I use a competitor coupon?"
"I hope it is not the $20 off $50."
"Well either that or the $15 off $50"
"Sorry we have been told not to use any of the competitors coupons. There is a big sign here in my area that tells us we can not use any. Besides the coupon only applies to the original price and can not be added to discounted items." Yada yada...something about read the coupon carefully...yada yada.

I did not want to push my luck. $23.xx with tax after MIR is still a sweet deal on a burner, especially if it is a Liteon like mine is. So in the last two days "I" have purchased 3 burners that will have cost less that $40 after MIR's. I just wish I could have an extra or two for myself. I did not have the funds to front buying another for myself, and I had to convince my mom and mother in law they needed one and this was too good of a deal to pass up. Did not dare ask either to shell out more money than they wanted. Oh well, at least I got one for myself....

BAIT AND SWITCH!!!

If you were told you would get a separate credit for the online coupon back to your credit card instead of getting the price up front you may want to call OfficeMax and verify that using your order number.....They told me "No Can Do".....I think this is a rip....the CSR told me no problem after I faxed an online OD coupon....I had called back because they forgot my $4.99 IR on the CD-Rs I bought....I am betting I am not the only sucker in this one....

Ok two important questions:

1. As far as the rebate goes for the CENDYNE drive, does the packing slip that ships in the box for phone orders, count as the reciept? for those of you who ordered over the phone, what are you sending as a reciept?

2. I went to OC freaks, but im still not sure what to do.. which file do I grab... and also, how do I get to DOS if im using XP?
